What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

(Yesterday) the tractor made getting the evaporator going a bit easier. First and only boil of the year for me (got a lot of other stuff on my plate). Made a little over two gallons of syrup in an afternoon (better part of a day really). Took 75ish gallons of sap and about a quarter of a cord of...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Here's a thread on my homemade arch progress (from another great forum) if you're curious: http://mapletrader.com/community/showthread.php?32814-DIY-Barrel-Evaporator-Build-(Detailed)

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I’m only doing 13 trees this year. And I didn’t even get a chance to collect any of the runs before this week. My biggest sugar maples are kind of spread out, so I wind up parking the tractor as close as I can to each cluster of a few trees and walking the buckets to the tractor. I can’t drive...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Broke a hundred hours collecting sap this morning. The L4701 is definitely more capable and less scary driving through deep snow over uneven surfaces with some weight on the forks (than my B2301). Hopefully the sap keeps until I’m able to boil it.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

We got a pretty big snow and the town plow that turns around in my driveway was running out of places to put the snow. So they pushed to a new spot, burying my forks. I didn’t realize it until I went looking for them. 🤣

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

My brother brought some sections of telephone pole for me to use on projects (not sure exactly what I’ll do with them yet, but I’m sure they’ll be useful for something). Grapple plucked them off the trailer.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

NYS DEC did some clearing for a parking lot to access the Wildlife Management Area I border. They sold me the logs at $10/cord. Moved them today. Grapples are great! And my L4701 with backhoe scares me much less than my B2301 did—less tippy feeling for sure.

Dump them in the woods?! All I see are BTUs! Haha.

    Snow removal

I used a snow pusher, a back blade, and chains (R4s) on my B2301. I thought it worked pretty well for me. I live in NYS and we get a good amount of snow. A snow pusher isn’t too expensive (relatively), is a two second install, and you can sell it and recoup most of your money if it doesn’t work...

I thought the same thing. No way I’d get that deep in the ground, I’d be too afraid. Partially because I don’t really do it often so I don’t know the risks.

    Kubota L4802

I know whatcha mean. I’ll say I’m happy with my L4701. Nothing about it bothers me me to the point I really wish it were different. - Brake pedals are on left. - Grill guard was lacking in my opinion, I added an aftermarket one for a few hundred bucks. - Lights kinda stink, but brighter...

    Kubota L4802

My L4701 has left side brakes. And I agree, I don’t think I’d buy a machine with hst and brakes both on right.

You know, I have no idea. I never really looked at the welds too closely. Or at all haha.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

It’s an L4701. The pusher is the Land Pride SPL1072. So far (first winter) the R1 tires are excellent in the snow. I see no need for chains, which I’m happy about. That includes, so far, nine inches of nice fluffy snow, and about the same of very heavy sticky wet snow. I’m sure it won’t be as...

I removed lots of stickers too. Looks much nicer this way. I do the same with my cars. And I don’t wear many clothes with words on them. Ain’t nobody need to know where I bought my shirt, or what engine is in my truck. I hate being made into a billboard.

I’d jump on that deal, too! I missed out on two different postings this year for $25 a piece. Most people around here (New York) are asking $75, with many asking even more, and a few asking “only” $50 (which seem to sell quickly).

Brought some firewood in. First year using these cages and I love them. Wish I could find more for the price I want to pay for them.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Got out a little early to plow. Boy am I envious of @johnjk ’s barn above! I ordered a carport in April that has yet to show. Hopefully my credit card company will help me get my money back, and I’ll build a tractor shelter next year.

Another Am I getting Shafted Question

@Swamp , that really sucks, I’m sorry to hear it. I don’t know anything about the law, but based on my experience I believe it is possible for them to honor the price. I ordered an L4701 with loader and BH August 2021. I had only a credit application and quote/invoice not exactly sure which...
