The mower mounts are different on different Kubota tractors. I'd look into removal/addition. Also, an LX is a lot heavier than a BX which might make more tracks in the yard.
Fwiw, I don't think Neil said a backhoe was worthless for everyone. I think his point was that it wasn't worth it for him to keep it. That being said, he can probably borrow a MiniEx whenever he wants. ;)
I fall in that camp of not missing one. I've only had my L2501 a few years though.
I'd also just shop for a different dealer or independent repair shop. I agree with the estimate. In some locations, they have to come back to you before spending more than 10% more.
I'm not shopping, but I found the information pretty comprehensive for the comparison of his LX3310 and his new LX4020. I didn't realize it was quite a bit wider with wider loader.
Nice tractor.
Fwiw, the three point isn't designed for pulling. You'd be better off using the draw bar for that purpose. Also, if you look at where the leverage is, you'll see the draw bar is below the axle.
If the rear tires are filled, they only have a small amount of air in them. Rotate the wheel so the valve is at the top and jack that wheel up. It shouldn't be a big deal.
I'm not sure a tractor is a good choice based on what you say you want to do. It certainly wouldn't be a L3901 or 2. There really isn't any point to me in going for DPF tractor of that HP range for a flat 5 acres. It doesn't seem like your dealer thinks so either.
Unless you plan to do...
I've heard that, too. However, I don't think homeowners can buy those direct or even parts from what I understand.
That being said, I and many others have had pretty good luck with Goodman for a lot less money.
