Pat's Quick Hitch vs LP QH15

The top link is completely free with the Pat’s hitch. However, it would also mean you might have to align the bottom two points independently. It seems like you’d trade one pain for different ones unless you could lock the bottom links to not move side to side. Otherwise, I think the mounts...

    Wait for a 2020 B2601 or get a 2019 B2650?

I’d go with the 2650. The 2650 is obviously bigger and more capable, but the mid mount mower attachment system is different than the 2601. I’m not saying it will be an issue for you, but it is different. One more thought, try to make your decision fast. Most used tractors are going pretty...

    Help me decide

I’d take a look for a similar model with loader and sell your current one. I don’t know if power steering can be retrofitted. I don’t know how long you plan to stay into tractoring, but it might make sense to go even newer to ensure your tractor is in great shape while you are at it.

    Montana

I visited Little Bighorn this past Winter. It’s very cool place. Unfortunately, the visitor center wasn’t open, but all of the sights were. They had those tall plackards along the driving trail to read. When we visited, it was a bit cold to walk the entire trail. I hope to do that again in...

    Tractor Towing- Chaining to Trailer

There are a few good videos on youtube that discuss the general DOT rules with a DOT officer. One of the best is from Tractor Time with Tim. For those of you who don’t know, he also owns a LX now.

    Added Tie Down Points

Fyi, my tractor was delivered to me with straps. I expect they’ll move more tractors than I ever will. That being said, I’m sure chains are fine as well. Most of us don’t have tractors that are that heavy compared to a car. Uhaul provides straps for cars on their tie downs with a short chain...

    Montana

My wife and I agree that Montana is a wonderful place which is why we moved here. We fell in love during one of our first trips to Yellowstone, and just needed to find the right time to move. Montana has several distinct climates, personalities, and types of terrain. Most people refuse to...

    lX2610 over the l2501

You didn’t say what you were wanting to lift. The biggest difference in the lift is that the L2501 will lift approximately the same weight higher. The net is that it will do more at the LX max height. Neil Messick showed the two tractors side by side in a youtube video to demonstrate the lift...

    Push me off the ledge

I anticipated that the treddle peddle might be an issue, but it actually wasn’t even a little bit of an issue. I’m 6’2” with a size 12 foot. I keep my foot on the platform though not the peddle. I haven’t run a BX, but I doubt it would be an issue either. I think the JD has a better mower...

Reducing erosion V for downhill trail.

We get 12-14 inches of precip a year. I’m not sure how it was formed (glaciers?), but there are lots of similar curvy paths down the hills. Maybe it would make more sense to go down with a pick/mattack/shoel and manually take off as little as possible to improve it, but do little damage.

Reducing erosion V for downhill trail.

I don’t think I did a good job explaining. I’m not trying to prevent the natural water drainage that I called erosion. It isn’t an existing road. Because it’s offcamber, I’m not wanting to go down it with the tractor and then try to fix it. It’s a bit of a cart before the horse kind of a...

    Box blade or rear blade?

If you are considering snow, I’d by the regular rear blade. It will be easier to push the snow off the road.

    Kubota Insurance

My tractor was quite a lot less. I can forsee the possibility that I might leave my property. At the point that you leave, homeowners doesn’t cover the tractor. Even plowing the local private road takes me off property. Also, I really like that it is true replacement insurance. That is, I...
