    What would you do?

How about an L with turf tires? You get the added capacities, more leg room and the turf tires would help with "rutting".

Yep, you guessed it......another "on the fly" use for the backhoe.

Well I "accidentally won" an auction for a "gunsmithing lathe" and had to go pick it up the other day. The ride back to the cottage was "uneventful" but also uneasy. I had it strapped down "good enough" with ratchet straps and 2 chains, but the "top heavy'ness" made the ride back...

Wood stoves......My favorite part of having a "cottage"......

I like having the combination of propane and wood. If it was the "only" source of heat, it might not be as appealing due to the constant work. (not to mention that the pipes would freeze when we are not here) My neighbors have an outside boiler and they like it, but I am not sure I would...

Wood stoves......My favorite part of having a "cottage"......

As a "city slicker" , I have lived my entire life with "natural gas" heat. Just walk over and push the button, and about 10 seconds later, you hear a "whoosh" as the furnace kicks in. And thats good. But I remember when my grandparents "retired" and moved "up north", they added on a room and...

    Which types of grease?

@85Hokie for the win!!!!!!!! I have a "butt load" of greases for some "specialty stuff" but if I was stranded on Gilligans Island and could only pick one grease to have on board the Minnow, it would be the above.

    Broke pin BH-77

Thank you sir. Wow that looks like a "cast pin". In the "gun industry" there are parts that are called MIM (Metal Injection Molded....I think) I broke a MIM part before and it looked very similar to that pin, but a hell of a lot smaller. Does anyone know if those pins are forged, cast, ....etc?

    Best clevis pin retaining method?

I think the term "good' is relative to the task. So any of the above would probably work for snow blowing. But (and there is always a "but") If you use "lynch pins" on your "bucket retaining pin" for your BH-77, That lynch pin will be "off faster than a prom dress". I have tried everything...

    Broke pin BH-77

I can't tell from the pics, but if it's just "tweaked" a little, a sledge hammer might be worth a try. Another, probably better solution, would be to take it to an automotive "body shop". I have seen them straighten some seriously twisted metal before. Those guys are good, I bet this would be...

Dropped stick in L3800D Hydraulic Fill

Man, I air some dirty laundry sometimes, but just a little friendly FYI; next time you reveal something like that, make sure to blame it on your grandson. 😉🍸

    New to me BX23

Giving it a "once over" with a grease gun would be in order as well. Given your location, I might go with a 10W30 or even that 5w40 that Rotella has now. I have 270K on my truck using Rotella 15w40, and I just did an oil change and switched my flavor to 5W40. I guess we will see how the next...

    Buying BH70 backhoe for B2601

Well fellas, since we haven't seen the OP in 2+ years I don't think we are ever going to hear , as Steve Harvey used to say, "The rest of the story". I spent north of 10 K for my BH and would get one again in a heart beat. I think BH's are similar to a lot of tools in that; You don't know what...

    The cost of getting old

Good info in that video for sure, and I believe it 100%. The only thing "wrong" with it, is she kinda "glosses over" how hard it is to actually eat like that in todays world. I have tried, and I lost weight, and my sugar was lower, and everything she said was true. However, actually living...
