2 questions - anti galling compound for SS and winch ??'s

Thank you! I never considered a frame mount. I'll look to see what's involved there. Two batteries make sense - separated by diodes. The alternator can charge both but the 2nd will only power the winch. Thanks!

2 questions - anti galling compound for SS and winch ??'s

I have some stainless steel hardware going on my tower project. What is the consensus for a good anti galling compound? I sure don't need much and generally wouldn't use SS. I am considering putting a winch on the tractor but have a couple of questions that have no obvious answers, at least to...

Box Blade-why did I wait so long to get one

I tried that with my similar back blade. It wouldn't cut into the compacted gravel very well. I needed the rippers to loosen things up first.

Box Blade-why did I wait so long to get one

At our former house we had a very long and steep gravel driveway. Almost any significant rain would cause it to rut terribly. I used the box blade / top n tilt to regrade so everything ran off to one side. Worked out great! It's a great tool!

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Today We got to pull up the 4th 10' section of my soon to be 60' tower. My son was on the Kubota letting it do all the hard pulling :) It's great that it can really creep slowly, allows time to see a problem developing. After it was up I attached the guy wires (actually non metallic) to the...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I've been (slowly) working on putting up my radio tower. Yesterday went up to attach temporary guys. Today used the tractor to pick through the sections to get the one with the guy bracket already mounted on it. That one is going up next. First spray painted over the small surface rust with...

    VEVOR welding table

I used several of the Vevor work benches in my workshop. Between the time I ordered the 1st 2 and the last 3 they made some subtle differences in them. I ended up adding a shelf between the leg braces on all of them. I'm very pleased with them.

    Stimulating a backhoe

Nice job. At some point I am going to have to dig a French drain also at the edge of the woods. Not sure exactly how I am going to maneuver in there. Also no backhoe here but I think between the fel bucket, grapple and stump bucket it will get done. We have a boatload of clay and good sized...

    Screwing the old people

Thank you for the Business 101 lessons Greensvillejay. Sorry if my post was misleading. He understood the service contract only covered labor. There is no license to steal just because you have a contractor license. No legitimate dealer sells a part that cost him $10 for $600. Everyone is...

    Screwing the old people

My old college roommate & his wife returned to Florida after 5 weeks in the north. Surprise! Their AC was dead. No problem, Alan (ex-roomie) had purchased a 5 year service contract with a company down there (West Palm Beach) for $2k, paid up front. So he calls them (1st service call outside of...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Today the Kubota played helper. My son operated it to pull up the 2nd section of my radio tower. I have a pulley / snatch block attached to my ballast box (laying on its side). The issue I had was as the section started to go up the ballast box would side toward the tractor. Then the pulley...

    2024 Summer Olympics

Not sure it was even 2' :) But that would have only tied it and sent it into overtime. Interesting fact, the woman that took that shot, Gabby Williams, was a UConn standout. Her mom is French so I guess that's how she ended up on the French team.
