3 Point moving when dismounting the tractor

I assume the arms are moving down. How old is the tractor? How much time does it take for the arms to move down?

    Which engine oil for BX2380?

Location: Southern Iowa Kubota, Shell, Mobil, Shell Rotella 15W-40 API: CH-4, CI-4, CJ-4 (Edit: page 73 or the Operator's Manual says this cannot be used on this tractor), or CK-4 As for the filter, on my cars I've ALWAYS changed the filter when I've changed the engine oil otherwise the new...

    Which engine oil for BX2380?

I'm still learning about diesel engines. The book calls for API CF or greater but CF is obsolete according to API. Which oil do you use in your BX2380? UPDATE: I got hold of the service manager at the dealership and he was very helpful with this so I have my answer. Thanks!

    I'm easily offended I guess...

While traveling through Illinois with a group of other teenagers we stopped for a bathroom and snack break. One of the others asked at the counter for a soda and the clerk replied, "I'm sorry but we're all out of ice cream." Took a couple seconds to get through that the customer wanted a "pop".

    I'm easily offended I guess...

I frequently reply to grown up females with "Yes ma'am." It's respectful in the South and I grew up close enough to the South to use it. I've never seen anyone offended by it although I've heard that some women are. I think it depends upon your tone when you say it as to whether or not you...

What kind of filter wrenches for BX2380 50 hour maintenance?

Looks like for the engine oil filter I need one that slips on the end of the filter and uses a ratchet and extension. Is that small size pretty common? Same for transmission filter wrench? Thanks.

Vegetable garden: tiller or plow or disc or ???

Good post Utopia Texas! I'm convinced that the best way to work up a garden is with a garden fork.

Vegetable garden: tiller or plow or disc or ???

I have a vegetable garden that's around 1800 square feet. My back isn't what it used to be so I thought about getting an attachment for my BX2380. Tillers are expensive especially for a garden that small. Plus tillers create a hard pan at the bottom of the tine rotation and destroy the soil...

    BX2380 is at dealership.

Signed the paperwork this morning, the salesman got off work at noon, and he delivered it about 20 minutes ago. Yippee! The weather sucks today but tomorrow the little beauty will get a bit of a work out.

    BX2380 is at dealership.

I was told yesterday that they received it and it is ready. I go in tomorrow (Saturday) morning to sign on the dotted line. I hope it gets delivered Monday or Tuesday.

    Carry all.

When I called Northern Tool last week they quoted $101 for shipping and that was the initial deal break but that's not one of my questions.

And you won't be getting $300 or $400 a pop when they hay the place for you. Had a guy stop by yesterday afternoon asking if he could buy some of my hay. Like money in the bank!

    Post hole auger size?

I have thought about implements for the skid steer but they run on the hydraulics and are expensive. I had the local guy watching for a used one for my bigger tractor but no luck yet. It would be bad for the lawn. A cat 1 could be shared between the tractors.

    Ideas for dolly

I haven't done it but Northern Tool and Harbor Freight sometimes have furniture dollies on sale. One or two of those might be a good start for an implement dolly. For the prices they have it would be hard to just buy 4 casters and they will support a lot of weight.

    Carry all.

The specifications for the BX2380 say that the lift capacity of the 3 point hitch is 680 pounds at 24" behind the pin. Is that the lift arm pins or the top link pin? If it were the lift arm pins I would think they would have said 24" behind the pins. From what I'm seeing on carry alls it...

    Preparing for winter with BX

In an unheated garage I would think a block heater and a battery warmer would make it ideal. Even a light bulb under the hood can make a difference. I'm in Iowa and don't use anything on my Bobcat even though it has a block heater. Gets pretty cold up here at times and the Bobcat hasn't...

    BX2380 with R4 tires?

We've had our ZTR for about 11 years so the BX will take that job when the ZTR bites the dust. But until then the BX will have plenty to do with landscaping chores and odds-and-ends. I thought the R4 tires would be a natural for snow removal and using a box blade on a gravel driveway.

    BX2380 with R4 tires?

Is a BX2380 with R4 tires an odd/rare combination? It's taking the dealership a while to get one. I thought this combination would be almost as popular as the BX2380 with turf tires. Is there any problem having R4 tires on this tractor?

    New Owner

If the grass on the 8 acres is any sort of condition at all you could have someone come in and hay the place for shares. Say that a big round hay bale is going for $50. Someone can come in and mow, rake, and bale those 8 acres. If they get 12 bales then you get $300 for your share and the...
