    FUEL Prices

About that. All fuel sold in northern Nevada comes from a refinery in California's Bay Area. 8" pipeline over the Sierra Nevada to a distribution center in the Reno/Sparks area. Which is why I chuckle when I hear someone proclaim that "X" brand of gas is better that "Y"...I can point and say...

    FUEL Prices

About $1 a gallon less than what I have to pay here in northern Nevada!

Photo shoot anything lately? Random Photo Thread

We've had two weeks of snowy and cold weather here in northern Nevada. The skies cleared for one day and I took this pic of the equipment lineup on one of the farms in the Quinn River Valley:

    Winter ???

Winter arrived in northern Nevada a couple weeks ago...diesel in the filter bowl on my bulk tank gelled in below zero temps!

I’ll show you mine if you show me yours.

Here's a pic of your "Great Gash Skywalk" area, taken from Ft Garrett Point miles away on the other side of the Great Gash. Photo taken with a pocket camera on a smoky day so not the best quality, in May 2012.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Blizzard conditions all day yesterday, really high winds driving the snow into big drifts. Calm and sunny this morning...but a bit chilly according to the National Weather Service:

FINALLY! Glad to see some pics with snow! I may live in the desert but we have nearly a foot on the ground right now:

    Side by Side

Again, the OP stated he wanted a side by side "for the hills". To me that means he doesn't want one for working around the farm/ranch but for trail rides in the mountains. I've yet to see a Kubota out in the hills around here. Mainly Polaris RZRs, Can-am Mavericks, Kawasaki Teryx models and...

    Side by Side

Another vote for the Can-am. I've had mine for several trouble-free years now, with over 3000 miles on it. Since you stated one with 4wd "for the hills" I'm assuming you want one that's more trail-oriented than work-oriented. The Kawasaki Mule you mentioned is work oriented, as are the Kubota...

    What Government Mandates Save Lives?

This is the only part of your dissertation I disagree with. I believe every young person needs to do their service BEFORE college/trade school. From everything I read and hear, most of the kids these days have no idea what they really want to do when they graduate high school; many go to...

Looking for an easy access for jump starting and charging

I have both my John Deere and Kubota set up with Anderson connectors on the exterior of the body, and 12 gauge wire connected to the battery because I have no power at my bulk diesel tank. The pump on the tank runs on 12 volts and has an Anderson connector on it so when it is time to fuel all I...

    Adjust 3-Point Hitch lift Height?

Follow up...just wanted to let everyone know I did what the Wolfman recommended. In the Service Manual I found a section on the 3 point hitch as to how to check the linkages to make sure they were set correctly. The section on adjusting the Position Feedback Rod was what worked for me. I...

    Adjust 3-Point Hitch lift Height?

They were in "A"; I changed them to "B" but it made no appreciable difference in how high the arms would lift.

    Adjust 3-Point Hitch lift Height?

Does anyone know if there is some kind of adjustment to how high the 3 point hitch on my 2016 cab model M7060 will lift? It will lift my rear blade only about 6" off the ground when I move the lever all the way up. My old John Deere will lift that same blade 1-1/2' off the ground. If there is...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

It has been a very wet year here in northern Nevada. I mowed my place in June and normally that's enough because we get no rain all summer so nothing grows back. This year with all the rain my place looked like an overgrown jungle so I had to mow it all again...just big weeds:

Things we wish Kubota would hear us on.

My biggest gripe about my cab model M7060 is the oil fill location (along with the dipstick). Time for the annual oil change, and I'm wondering if it is worth my time to dismount the front end loader just so I can change the engine oil with less hassle. Like most of us, my M7060 has the loader...

    Napa(don't) know how.....

Same here. The Walmart battery in my ancient John Deere 2020 diesel - notoriously difficult to start in colder weather - lasted 13 years.

    Napa(don't) know how.....

As far as cost of batteries, recently read some articles discussing why the price has gone up 50 - 100% in the last few weeks. Lots of reasons, most of them BS. Just had to buy a battery for our Search and Rescue Polaris Ranger. Battery is about half the size of a car battery...cost $173.
