    When PU's were work trucks

ALL 2500 - 3500 - 4500 and 5500 series 4x4 Ram trucks are solid front axle, as are all 4x4 Ford F250 and up. Still the most durable setup.

Lucas green extra heavy duty grease is back on the shelves

Good to know. Been using the green Lucas for several year now and really like it; all local stores have been out for months.

    Do you need a truck?

I bought it to use, to take me wherever I need to go..... It has crossed many a washout: Quite a few miles in 4Lo, climbing rocky switchbacks up to 9000 feet elevation where the good hunting is: Yes, I'm driving on a road that appears on a map...but when spring runoff happens, sometimes the...

    Do you need a truck?

I must be a weirdo...completely atypical of that "study". 95% of the time my truck is either hauling or towing...98% of the time it is "off-road" because where I live there is very little pavement so most of my driving is on dirt roads.

    When PU's were work trucks

My Dad's first new truck was a 1963 F250 4x4. He then traded for the one in the below pic - 70s model but I'm not sure exactly what year it was made. Also F250 4x4. Both had high sides on the back because they were used to haul cattle...and sawdust...and shavings (bedding) and anything else...

    Dodge Fans....No V8s

Toyota did go the same route as F150, with a twin-turbo V6. Only something went wrong...all of those engines are blowing up and are being recalled.

    Dodge Fans....No V8s

My Dodge/Cummins dually is now 20 years old. Only repair I've had to do is replace a leaky water pump. Not bad for 20 years!

    Dodge Fans....No V8s

Playing catchup to Ford. Ford went to a twin-turbo V6 I believe in 2011. The Ram is a twin-turbo straight 6, but the horsepower and torque, especially the torque curve, beat the 5.7 V8's 395 HP and 410 lb-ft of torque. If they build it right and it is reliable it will be a good thing...

Which brand of used UTV has the Best value / least problems?

That's good...if you use it only on flat land. One of the reasons I chose my Can-am was the 65" width. MUCH more stable on a steep, off-camber hillside than a narrow UTV. Seen too many of these things roll.

Planted 80 green giants last october. All are doing pretty good except these two.

Where I live average yearly rainfall is 5", almost all during December - March. Pretty much zero rain from June through the middle of October. 100 degree temperatures with almost zero humidity will suck the moisture out of any living thing. If I stopped watering I wouldn't have anything green...

What’s the advantage of concealed carry over open carry?

A lot of this depends on WHERE you will carry. Here in Nevada, it is no big deal. Last time I was in Walmart there were several people - including couples - openly packing. But then it was 100 degrees outside and so who would be wearing a jacket or loose bulky clothing? No one was paying...

Which brand of used UTV has the Best value / least problems?

My Can-am Defender is closing in on 4000 trouble-free miles. Seems like I'm finding a new use for it every day. And yes, as someone mentioned above, it does have "turf" mode so there is a working differential in the rear. A lot of UTVs (and ATVs) the rear end (diff) is locked so if you turn...

    Windshield Washer Container

Wonder if that would fit my M7060? Mine fell apart completely - literally crumpled into pieces, probably from exposure to the sun. I wasn't about to pay what Kubota wants for a new one so I've just done without.

Photo shoot anything lately? Random Photo Thread

Came across these 3 orange spots of color parked on a ranch in an otherwise drab landscape while on a drive through Nevada's Ruby Valley yesterday morning.....

    Old ammunition

I bought a bunch of .38 Special military ball ammo 50 years ago...and it was old when I bought it. Still shoots fine - I use it for practice ammo. So my response would be take it to the range and have some fun!

    Taking a break

That elevation will definitely do you in, especially if you live at sea level or at least below 4000 feet elevation. I'm surrounded by high mountains here and experience that all the time. Made myself physically sick one time up on Mt Evans in Colorado (elevation 14,000+ feet) when I...

    Taking a break

Enjoy! I took that Durango to Silverton steam train ride years ago and I will never forget it. Some of the prettiest scenery on God's green earth.
