Should I sharpen my brush hog blades?

Something to keep in mind if you are mowing mostly grass is the shape of the blades. At least on my 6' rotary mower the blades look like the blades on a lawn mower - that is, they have an upward bend at the rear edge of the blade that, when the blades are spinning, creates a lifting action...

Photo shoot anything lately? Random Photo Thread

Actually, there were quite a few more scattered about out there that weren't in the camera's view. If you actually want to see wild horses, Nevada is the place. According to the Government, wild horse population in Nevada is ~ 40,000. A lot of taxpayer money is spent every year on wild horse...

I despise buying home appliances such as refrigerators!

Back in the early 80s friend of mine retired from the company we both worked for and moved away. He had a chest freezer he didn't want to take with him so he gave it to me. It is still in my basement and still works as new. It is a Sears "Coldspot" and if I remember correctly the tag on the...

Kubota's new West Coast distribution center.

So true. And as a Nevadan I can't tell you how many times I've been told by Californians who live east of the Sierra Nevada mountains that they wish the state line was the crest of the Sierras....their address is in California and they pay California taxes...but they do all their business in...

You are using your old Nikkors (manual focus) with the new Zf mirrorless? I know that works but the new lenses made for the mirrorless cameras are really sweet in the way they instantly focus and lock on to a subject. Not to mention the stabilization - up to 5 stops which makes for handheld...

    yup, EVs are soooo great...

I think eventually that's how EVs will have to evolve. Standardize the batteries, and instead of having to stop for several hours to recharge you'll pull in to a battery swapping station where there will be infrastructure to swap out the batteries in a couple minutes.

    Speaking of Phones

Like everything else, YOU have to decide whether the gadget controls you or you control it. I've had a smart phone for years now. On average I make 1 or 2 calls a week on it, and receive about that many. Same with texts. Phone spends most of its time idle, in a phone case, in my kitchen or...

    Utv, Kei Truck or Other

The 4x4 system on a Can-am is wonky??? In what way? I'd venture to say the Polaris system is more "wonky" than the Can-am. I've been part of a Sheriff's Search and Rescue team for several years. We have 3 UTVs...2 Polaris Rangers and an old Yamaha Rhino. When we have to go out in really...

I was at the dealer checking out a new Limited last week. How do you get to the oil filter on that? Looks like the a/c unit covers that side of the engine?

Another vote for a Can-am Defender. I have two tractors that I've been using for chores around the place. Then a couple years ago I bought a Can-am Defender HD-10. That thing has turned out to be so handy that my tractors are being neglected. Amazing how many different things I could find...

The PTO does not stop Kubota M5112

Does it still do this after the tractor has been worked and everything (especially the hydraulic fluid) is hot? I have an older tractor that spins the PTO shaft until it is well warmed up....seems like the oil, until it gets hot, has enough viscosity to spin the PTO mechanism. Once everything...

Hey, you were in my neck of the woods! Those mountains are along US Highway 95 that runs from Winnemucca, Nevada to Boise, Idaho. That Chevron station is now Sinclair...and you can add about $2 to each price to be current! I posted current pics of those mountains a few posts above.

    FUEL Prices

I've kept meticulous records all my life. In 1973 I drove my van from my parents farm in northeastern Pennsylvania to Reno, Nevada. Averaged 12.85 mpg on that trip...and total cost for fuel was $90.14. For a cross country trip! 50 years later...this past summer it cost me $130.46 to fill the...
