    Buying Advice B2601 or L2501

I've used a B7500, B2650, and now L2501 on my yard and I don't see any difference in what effect one has on my grass more than the other. The larger tractors have larger tires which tend to offset their added weight. On my B7500 I had both R4 and R3 (turf) tires and the R4 fronts tended to cut...

    Tractor sizing

I think an LX or small L would work well. FWIW an L2501 will have *no* problem with a 6' finish mower or 5' rotary cutter or flail. Probably the heaviest use mine gets is mowing the meadows each Fall because that's the only time they get cut. I do it with a 60" flail with the engine at full PTO...

    B2601 Brush Attachment

I'm like Don in that the flail mower is maybe my favorite implement. I seldom get into trees much bigger than saplings but I have 4 small meadows which I leave grow Spring through Summer for ground nesting birds etc. then cut it down in early Fall so the weeds and brush gets pretty tall and...

    Analysis Paralysis L2501/LX2610SU…….B2601

My goodness it didn't take you long to dirty up your new tractor! Nothing wrong with that though, nice to se it getting put to work. :)

    Analysis Paralysis L2501/LX2610SU…….B2601

That hill is actually my pond dam and by far the steepest on my property. I back up it to the top, lower the flail and mow it down hill. HST all the way for me for a number of reasons. R1 Ag tires will definitely provide more traction than the R4's on dirt and grass. I think R4's are a bit more...

    Analysis Paralysis L2501/LX2610SU…….B2601

Having just come from a B2650 (previous version of LX2610) to an L2501HST the difference in weight and overall robustness is apparent, and if you don't need the mid PTO is probably a better choice for very little, if any, more money. One area where it'll be noticeably better is on hills because...

    Should I Change all fluids?

Pretty easy to change the fluids yourself. Why would a dealership be responsible to fix any problem that comes up after simply changing fluids on an older tractor with almost 1,000 hours?

    Tractor lives at another location?

I guess wherever you live most would want their shop and "toys" there as well to keep you occupied, and within an hour from "concrete" as my friend from Chicago used to say.

    Tractor lives at another location?

What State are you in? I dunno, it seems most every State has a way to get us one way or the other. 1,300 sq ft can make for a very comfortable home to live in especially for just a couple. I can say it was not fun downsizing from two homes to the one smaller one though. Much easier to move...

    Tractor lives at another location?

Mine used to be 30 miles away in the garage beside my rural get-away home. But I finally thought to myself "why have two properties"? So I sold the home in town, now my tractor's home is just 50' out the back door. Do any of you who have second property at remote locations ever to plan on...

    Ferris Question

I have a 2100Z and I believe my spring preloads are set 2 up from softest. ccoon I need to check but I don't believe the preload setting affects the deck, I think the deck is unsprung so it doesn't move up and down with the suspension rather it moves with the wheels.

    Buying advice

BX, or possibly a B2301 (with more ground clearance, 3-range, higher lift....) sounds perfect for your needs.

The right Kubota for me - please help

I went from a B2650 (now referred to as LX2610) to L2501. I had a mid mount mower for the B2650 which didn't work out for me so it was just sitting there. While the lengths and heights are similar the rear track width on the L2501 is around 6" wider which is a good bit and I found the B2650 to...

The right Kubota for me - please help

All good points but for another take I just commented (in bold). Yes an L60 might lift an 18' long oak log while with an L01 it'd need to be sawed to 11'. And operate a 7' blade opposed to a 6', and 6' flail mower vs a 5' for an L2501. So you may accomplish your tasks spending less time on your...
