Land Pride Implement Grapple for BX1870

I have the Land Pride SGC0548 Grapple, with the quick connect and 3rd function kit. I have to say it is absolutely awesome. I can take 20' trees, snap them into thirds, and stack the pieces and haul them out of the woods in two minutes. I've been practicing using the upper teeth as a rake...

    BX/B advise

I use a cat 1 quick hitch for everything ( yeah a $79. HF Special) it gets about 8" ground clearance is all I have not tried a smaller rake to see if it would lift higher. I was able to clear a dog run area about 200'x80' around the trees, taking up all the pine needles and branches.

Started cutting firewood already, between rain storms

Yup, mostly it's me just doing a little bit at a time. I offered my neighbor a truckload of wood if he came over with his two boys ( 18, 21) and we cut, split, and stack a day's worth. He laughed, and said there's no way his boys would work at it all day! .... and they both live at home. I know...

    BX/B advise

I have no problem using a 7' rake on my BX. It's mainly for taking the Forest floor and making piles of pine needles and branches to Grapple up and keep the "fuel" off the ground. It also works great to rake gravel back onto the road to use the land plane to re-grade the gravel roads

I agree, the constant up and down is what kills you. I can Grapple the logs onto the Sawbuck, and sawing at that height is easy. That when the pain in the lower back begins! Fetching rounds to put in the splitter, than stacking the split pieces is what gets me mostly. It definitely helps...

We moved into this smaller place in N Idaho, its only 2100SF, and almost new construction so we have an R48 rated house. (12" walls and 14" floors and ceiling) Even with 24' ceilings, the wood stove heats the house so well, most days we let it go out by 11:AM unless it's 5 degrees and blowing...

The guy will come out with a log truck and log boom arm, unload it where you need it, stacked and ready to go. $800. For the load. That will last me 3-4 years. A good ten cords. I've gone out with 4 other guys, all younger. We had two long bed 1 ton 4x4'd with winches. Spent 6 hours, wear...

Started cutting firewood already, between rain storms

Got a semi load of Birch and Red Fir, all about 26-28' long. I cut them in half and use the little BX Grapple to place them on the Sawbuck. Only got about 3 cords cut, and half of it split and stacked. Lots of work, but I Love having a wood fire all winter,( and this year spring still too) it's...

    Buying vs Renting

He might be a great guy, but I would still shop it around. A big piece of equipment sitting makes no $$.

    Buying vs Renting

When I built my cabin and shop in Alaska, I hired a local guy to do the work. A rental yard wanted $400. Per day, I didn't ask about weekly rates. I ended up with an experienced operator, using a huge piece of equipment ( track hoe) that could triple the work I could do with the smaller unit...

It makes a big difference if you have a hand full of cash or if you need to take out a loan for the purchase. Cash in hand makes a used rig a much better deal than a loan at 3.9%, 9.9% whatever. It all ads to the bottom line. Besides if you have cash, and don't buy equipment, tools, tires, guns...

That's the thing about an auction, people take it personal, and don't always think rationally. They have the " I want to Win" mentality. Just like with any vehicle, there's usually many out there for sale exactly like the one your looking at. If that one doesn't work out, look for another...

That's very low hours for a 7 year old rig. Does it come with anything besides the backhoe, loader and mower? I have a 2014 model year, and it came with two small bolted in place skid plates, and I added a full plate also. I believe retail price is $18,9k new. That's with the 0% interest...

    Welcome to Washington state...mud junction

I was able to get the land plane out and grade out the potholes a couple weeks ago, and it's been raining (or snowing ever since) but at least we're going to get another 1 1/2" today! There's flooding and mudslide warnings out everywhere

Here's the same view today after 2 1/2" of snow off my little side yard deck. The suns out and it will be 55 today.

Here's a custom truck grill made from .188 wall flat stock and stove bolts. You can use a grinder and BFH to distress the flat stock, and beat on the stove bolts too. You can use paint to really apply some patina.

Best way to attach a 2" receiver?

Maybe not the cheapest, but very versatile and easy to use. I have a couple full sized trailers to constantly move around, so I found this "A" frame with the pins on Amazon. The base was the correct width for my quick hitch, although I did extend the top pin 2 1/2" to match my other implements...
