    Rubber Floor Mat

Thanks for the tip. Looks like the best bet is to buy the quart for $36. May do this next spring.

    Buying a UTV

Thinking the Kubota 520 is probably the best choice for what we need. Has hydraulic transmission. Most use CVT transmissions that don't hold well going downhill. Honda has gears, but must have a centrifugal clutch. How does it hold going downhill?

Mule SX 4x4? How does it hold going downhill without the brake?

    Sharpen Rotary Mower Blades?

I've been removing the blades and sharpening them using a fixed rotary grinder every spring for 18 years. "Sharpen" is wrong word. I even their sides out and leave a blunt edge. Getting too old to do this. Plan to replace the old Frontier with a new Landpride this spring and maybe do the...

    Choosing between recommended oil weights

I buy M1 0w30 from Advanced Auto. It's European diesel rated similar to the 5w30 Castrol that VW sells for its many million diesels running around all over the world and what we used for nearly 7 years in our VW TDI.

    Buying a UTV

Thanks, guys. Might look at both the Kawasaki and the Honda. Can siphon fuel from our pickup and wouldn't need to keep a separate gas container around. Got some gas oil left over from when we still had gas stuff, M1 5w30. EVs seem to be so hard to find and are pricey. Diesels even more so.

    Buying a UTV

Wife is interested in a UTV to carry stuff around the property. Was initially looking at electric ones, but striking out on availability. Best value seems to be the Polaris Ranger, but a local dealer says Polaris hasn't made any available in quite a quite. They seem to be pressing their new...

    Glow Plug question

Only diesel we've owned in 39 years in cars and 18 years in diesel tractors that required more than about 3 seconds glow time is on the 1973 220D Benz. It had old style glow plugs. Present ones on most tractors are about 1980s vintage. Our VW TDI started virtually like a gasoline engine.

Methonol and water vs rim guard

I had windshield wiper fluid in the first 3 tractors. Think they put salt water in the B2601's rear tires. You need to have something on the 3ph in addition to the ballast water. However, the delivery guy lifted a 500 # BB out of his F150 with it cantilevered off the edge of the FEL with...

    Cold Weather Starting

The 3 JD (Yanmar) tractors all started cold, shuddering, clattering, blue smoking and shaking with about 1/2 throttle and about 3 seconds on glow plugs. The B2601 starts more nearly like the Isuzu generator driver which starts with no smoke, no shudder, no clatter, 3 seconds on glow on the B...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Removed the WM WC46, putting it on its dolly made from putting steel castors on the shipping container. Put the RB on. Have the top hook now just bolted in one place that works for everything. Cannot use the Cat 1/2 and 2/3 bushings because the arms are just short enough that the keepers...

using tractor to pull a stuck car/truck/rv

NEVER use a chain. My dad used one once to pull our car. Chain broke and wrapped back over the hood off the car leaving a nice groove, just short of the windshield. Could kill you if it wrapped back to you in the tractor seat. My neighbor has pulled my tractors twice using a thick nylon...

    Bush hog replacement

I'm getting up in age, had 80th in April. The old Frontier RC2048 was bought about 8 to 9 years ago when I bought the lemony JD 1025R. Had it on the 2025R for 6 years and now on B2601. The bolts for the blades have raised elongated nipples that are supposed to fit into slots on the bush hog...

Cold starts: what is your preferred RPM setting??

The startup on the Isuzu generator driver is automated. Has to start and run at same spend and to load up immediately. Guessing rpm is around 1600-1800. A little gem. Starts with no smoke, no clatter, no shudder. Sounds like a gasoline engine. It has a relatively long glow plug time...

    First service at 50 hours

Near 80 on the B2601. Did 50 hour service back about mid summer. Bought late January.

    Mixing hydraulic oil

My WM manual said either 32 or 46. Think I went with 46. Pour in less than what is recommended if you work on hills. Otherwise, excess will pour out underneath the cap. I agree with TheOldHokie. Doubt there are many additives in hydraulic oil to worry about.

    Leveling rear blade

Just like for any implement on 3ph: use the right side adjustment to adjust the height the right side is at.

    Lug nut reminder

Never never checked mine except for when I had to remove one rear tire to do HST service on the JD 4010.
