BX2380 50 hour maintenance - changing transmission fluid?

I've new drain oil containers. Plan to save, filter and reuse. Stuff is $27/gallon. The B2601 takes 4 gallons.

Woodland Mills WC-68 or WoodMaxx TM-8H or WoodMaxx WM-8H

I like that lever to raise the feed roller. For the WC46, I take the floor jack with us in the FEL.

What kind of filter wrenches for BX2380 50 hour maintenance?

I bought a 2 finger one at NAPA several years ago. It fits in tight spots and has a square hole to put a wrench handle or extension into. Think the fingers have enough extension for the HST filter(s).

    Stingy on fuel

Does matter. I've kept track of fuel consumption on every engine except small lawn mowers my whole life. Got them all on one Excel spreadsheet with different sheets for each vehicle/engine. We engineers had about a 50/50 mix of carbureted gas engines and diesel engines in the 80s. We...

Storage? Portable Canopy Garage, door is too short.

ROPS on the B2601 has 2 fold-down options: 1. straight back, 90 degrees; 2. part way back, 45 degrees. At the 45 degree position it fits underneath all 5 of our garage doorways and still provides some ROPS.

    Stingy on fuel

That's good: 0.44 gph. Right between what I'm seeing on the B2601 and the 3 JDs.

PTO vs Engine speed thoughts for discussion

I run it like I would a new car or pickup: just don't keep it a high speed very long. Start and immediately work it. Been doing this for 62 years. Ran one car to 25 years and 415k miles. On it (a Benz 240D with 65 hp), one had to essentially "red line" it to 4500 rpm in 1st and 2nd gears to...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Removed some tree pieces from 10-12 years ago to the right side of the driveway where it drops off quite sharply from the driveway. Finished up by bush hogging there and climbing that steep slope up to the driveway. The B2601 is like a billy goat in L.

    3 pt lower link arms

Another thing is to buy a quick hitch. HF has about the least expensive one but requires another top hook if you have a bush hog.

Here in central Va, Lowes has it in addition to TSC.

    Loaders' first job !

Would have been a good job for bolt-on forks. I've had a couple needs for them but haven't bought any yet.

    Fuel additive

I think Power Service in the white bottle is good for gelling and bio. I use it and Seafoam in the 60 gallon generator tank and refuel tractor from it.

    Stingy on fuel

I'd rather have his car. Hope his records are as good as mine. Most of you are foolishly embarrassed because you have no idea how much fuel your tractor uses.

    Stingy on fuel

Up to 12 gallons now at 32.7 and full to bottom of fill tube: 0.014 gph/engine hp. This is versus 0.025 gph/engine hp for 3 Yanmar JDs.

LX2610 buying help - HP question

I ran a 4 foot cutter on an 18.5 engine hp JD 4010 for 9 years. Could cut grass up to the top of the hood of the tractor.

    LA435 Swift-Tach loader on B2601

Yeah, mine is like that, but it will take an act of Congress for me to want to remove it. Have removed the bucket once to back the BB into the basement of the carriage house. Not much maneuvering room down there with the 60 inch bucket.

    Fuel filter quick drain?

After finding water in the bottom of the gearbox of the bush hog, I decided to check the 60 gallon tank on the generator. I attached the suction of the extractor pump to a driveway marker and lower it to the bottom of the tank. Started the pump. No water after nearly 10 years. Still no water...

Steps and Grab Handle for B2601

Try looking for one for the LX2610. It supposedly works: the step.

    LA435 Swift-Tach loader on B2601

I'd just remove the bucket itself. Just pull up on those black levers on the back side of it. Lower a bit and go. When reloading, tilt the part with the levers on it a bit forward at the top before trying to get it reattached. I've had 4 tractors now and have never ever removed the entire...
