    Maintenance Supplies

As long as you are buying good quality filters it doesn't matter where you get them. After all, Kubota don't make the filters that the dealers sell here in North America anyway.

    Drilled Hole into Engine Block

first of all this is a d1503 engine. the drill will have gone through the cylinder wall, below the combustion area. these are thinwall castings so the thickness here is less than .250. the engine is not equipped with sleeves so none are available from Kubota. An aftermarket sleeve can be...

Solar charger circuit replaces the original

Carl called it a charger for solar panels, I think he means a regulator for charging batteries with solar panels and not a solar panel itself. I could be wrong of course! It's often hard being real clear on things with different terminology and language barriers! Happy New Year to you as well...

    B6200 cant shift to 4x4

Yes, you should be able to shift it almost anytime. It is easier to shift if the tractor is rolling though because the gears won't necessarily line up until they turn a bit. You should be able to move the lever some though even if it doesn't full engage. If you cannot move it at all then it...

Solar charger circuit replaces the original

Hi Joe It sounds like he is using a solar panel regulator which would require a DC input. I think that is why he used the bridge rectifier and if so would make a good fix.

    B6200 cant shift to 4x4

There is no specific procedure, it is a simple shifting arrangement. These do get seized up periodically from disuse. It may be necessary to spray antiseize on the linkage and where it goes into the tractor.

    L175 hydraulic check valve?

There isn't any check valve to hold prime. The only thing that can be happening when you "pump" the lift arms is movement of the position feedback linkage. you may have to remove the linkage and valve and free them up.

    Drilled Hole into Engine Block

Hi, Sorry to hear about your bad luck! Drilling a hole into the frost plug to remove it is probably the best way but you do have to know when to stop! The frost plug is quite close to the cylinder wall in that engine so you really have to watch when you drop through. All that is no good to you...

    How popular are sub-compacts???

You got a good deal Sam, and you can get parts and service for it at any Kubota dealer and you can buy Kubota attachments for it if you want. It also is worth more on trade-in because it is a recognized Kubota model. I am often amazed just how much people pay for grey market equipment! Often...

    Sluggish joy stick

Hi Joe The detents are in the control valve as Milo said, they are not in the joystick block.

    HST v.s. Gear

There are no parts available from Kubota Canada for the Hydro transmission on early "B's" . they do provide a new complete hydro unit but it is over $2000. The most common failure on the hydrostats that I see is water in the hydraulic fluid, freezing the charge pump, which then breaks. It isn't...

    B7001 venting oil from crankcase

it's possible Milo, but those passages are pretty big. If they are plugged you have other greater problems also. Usually if the ring/cylinder seal is leaking there is vapor coming from the plastic hose that looks a little like steam. There really shouldn't be anything visibly coming from there.

    B7001 venting oil from crankcase

Well it would be a DIY job for me, I don't know your mechanical abilities or what tools you have but I'm guessing it will be a shop repair.

    B7001 venting oil from crankcase

Usually oil being vented from that pipe indicates worn out rings and sleeves. probably time for a rebuild. Ed

B3030 Hst tranny fluid noise. Normal???

The detent position at full forward travel is called "float" in that position the loader should drop to the ground and float on the surface with no down pressure. If you push the lever ahead but not into "float" the loader should go down and actually lift the front of the tractor.

    How popular are sub-compacts???

That's what a lot of people are saying and why tractor sales are down.

    How popular are sub-compacts???

Maybe in 2008 but we're not getting those prices today in this area. low interest rates and lower prices on the new ones have cut into used tractor prices. Plus of course, the ecomomy.

New member with a problem on L2900

excellent! glad you got it fixed! Once again it was a simple repair. Though it should have been done years ago when the tractor was still on warranty!

    How popular are sub-compacts???

B6100s bring $2000 to $2500 around here with no attachments. A hydro is about $500 more.

    Sluggish joy stick

I think your Kubota tech is right about the detent possibly freezing and Milo's suggestions are "right on" as far as servicing that. The operation of your joystick is caused by what Kubota calls regenerative hydraulics. when you use the loader on your tractor and you move the control to the...
