Is this a BX2200 or a BX2230? I don't remember BX2200's having a seat switch

Check the switch to make sure it has continuity when depressed and doesn't when released, you might have the wrong switch.

What switch are you moving wires around on? The neutral switches in a BX2200 just have two wires, it doesn't matter which way they go. Here is a wiring diagram for it.

Some variations of those engines have a injection timing advance mechanism. I believe that might improve the idle. I have never worked with one with the advance on it though.

There might be a problem with injectors here but in my experience those engines will not idle smooth bellow 1100 rpm without much larger flywheels. About 10 years ago I experimented with a D1105 in a small car and the only way I could get an idle below 1000 was by bolting two flywheels together.

Yes, it just pops out. the only tool you'll need is a screwdriver and a 1/2 wrench to connect the power wire to the battery terminal

I always put red loctite on them but I'm not sure it makes any difference. I have never had one come out though.

If you do install it in the plug on the left side I recommend that you ensure that the element is horizontal. The plugs on the left side only expose a horizontal slot to the block heater so an air pocket is left above the element. if it is installed so that the element protrudes into that air...

The RTV900 has a mechanical lift pump. check it out first before you mess with the injection pump!

K2731-99000 is the correct number for a bx1860. I'm not sure what the difference is but they list a different part number for each of them. Likely has to do with the alternator to engine rpm ratio.

If you order a new instrument cluster from Kubota you will get the newer 70 series one. It will come with a wiring adapter for your tractor.

Are you talking about the high/low range lever or the engine throttle lever?
