    How to get faster heat?

Not fully warmed up but it was that way after about 10 minutes of use. I’ve seen new tractors get a coolant air lock when the dealer tops them, and they end up not being full. I’ll check the rad when cold.

    L2501 6hrs new rattle

On the L series, the ROPs is bolted and doesn’t rattle like they do on the B series.

    L2501 6hrs new rattle

With the tractor idling, get off and grab parts of the three-point hitch...top link, lift arms, etc. I think something is just rattling. With the clutch engaged, more of the driveline is spinning and it creates more vibrations. At least the L2501 still sounds like a "real" tractor!

    Dealing with Frozen Sand

I'm a little dubious road salt is the cause of such a problem...after all, it is only used about 4 months of the year. Most bodies of water have stream or river outlets which purge contaminants along and eventually the salt should end up in the ocean. I'm all for eliminating salt, though. I'd...

    How to get faster heat?

Thanks for the info. I'm pretty well versed on diesel having owned six diesel pickups over the years including my current truck, plus quite a few tractors. I guess I'm a little disappointed these modern common rail direct injected Kubotas don't have an automatic idle up feature like most new...

    Dealing with Frozen Sand

I live very near BAP and agree the thing to do is mix some salt in with the sand. That's how every DPW and DOT for the state treat their sand to prevent freezing. I hate the use of salt for its impact on steel, namely vehicles. I think the environmental impact, however, is pretty overstated...

    L3560 limited vs l4060

My MX4800 had a very quiet HST transmission. Yeah, in high range it whines a little, but no real complaints. The standard L series (2501/3301/3901) has a noticeably loud HST transmission, but you get used to it. The MX has 8-lug rear wheels vs the 6-lug you find on any L60 series machine. The...

    Smartest $1.99 buy ever

I'm well aware of this fact, and its a tremendous shame. And it goes beyond just hand tools and parts; even once-trusted quality name brand snow blowers and lawn mowers are now supplying you a garbage Chinese Honda-clone engine, with thinly stamped Chinese steel, and a big "Assembled in USA"...

    Smartest $1.99 buy ever

Keep in mind every time you guys buy HF stuff, you are not spending your money to help the US economy aside from the HF chain of stores and their low paid employees. Buying anything from HF would be a last resort option for me. I'd rather pay more for something quality, from a brand with a...

    L3560 limited vs l4060

The MX is a great tractor. It’s slightly larger than the 4060, same basic engine but with substantially more horsepower. It has a stronger loader. Of course you give up quite a bit too...you will be back to a standard 3-range HST...no HST Plus with 3 intermediary ranges which can be shifted on...

Not enough alternator on my L4060?

Your 67 Mustang had a blower, so does the Kubota. It has two front headlights with likely less low and high beam wattage than this Kubota. It has two tail lights; so does the Kubota. Turn signals...the Kubota has 6 vs 4 on the Mustang, plus the Mustang uses a shared bulb on the back. License...

Not enough alternator on my L4060?

HIDs only have a high draw right at startup...then they use less than halogen. My goal was to keep the stock work light enclosures because I liked how they looked. Hence the HID conversion because there was no stock LED bulb that had better output than the halogen.

Not enough alternator on my L4060?

I am running HID bulbs in my front work lights; these reduce power demand a little bit. I would imagine on a low horsepower engine like mine, a larger alternator adds noticeable drag on the engine to increase fuel consumption and lower PTO horsepower slightly. It’s probably in Kubota’s best...

Not enough alternator on my L4060?

I don’t notice the lights dimming because the pad is on the moment the tractor starts and supplies 12v to the plug. What I notice is “lights off” means a warmer pad. The 12v plug says 120w on it, and my heater pad says it uses half of that.

Not enough alternator on my L4060?

I have a 2019 L4060 cab which I love. I recently installed a 12v heated seat pad that just straps to the standard seat and plugs into the 12v socket next to the seat. However, while plowing with it the other day, full blower, front and rear work lights, headlights, and stereo...I noticed the...

    How to get faster heat?

It is 10F here. Tractor started fine. This time I removed auto throttle and set RPM to about 1600. Tractor had heat in less than 10 minutes. After 30 minutes of operating like this, gauge is about a quarter of the way up and cab is warm. I think my problem was using Auto Throttle with too low a...

    How to get faster heat?

Right now, doing snow cleanup with a back blade and front loader. I'm setting my base idle to about 1000-1200, but I use the "idle up" button on the loader stick if I need more. SideCarFlip, there's no issue with using a hydrostatic trans at full throttle. The pedal pressure modulates...

Front 3-point hitch for loader quick attach

I'm going to take your advice and not do it. Instead, I'll look to purchase a snow plow with a trip and a QA plate. I'm not looking to damage my equipment, even with Kubota insurance on it...
