    Thanks BAP.

    Adding outside temp display?

I want something that looks nice and as built in as possible. I have a nice weather station at my house, mounted on the peak of my garage and transmits into the house. Wind speed / direction, rain, temp, humidity, dewpoint, etc, etc. It does connect to wifi and keeps historical data. However...

    Adding outside temp display?

I wonder why every car has an outside temp display in it these days, when "you can just look at your phone," or "just look at an analog thermometer before you leave?"

    Adding outside temp display?

I guess I'm interested what the actual ambient temp is at the location I'm at. The phone / GPS temp readouts are based upon the temp located somewhere else and I find can vary considerably from what you see in your car. It's also a lot easier to glance at a display then pull your phone out of...

    Adding outside temp display?

Anyone added an outside temp display like a car has?

Warm ups during storage/times of no use?

Yes, more so. But aside from possible more frequent regenerations, the 15-20 minute process is the same. The dash warns you to increase RPMs if they are not high enough. I idle my DPF tractors and don't worry about it. Two seasons ago, when I had just gotten the MX, I let it run for close to...

Warm ups during storage/times of no use?

To be fair, a DPF tractor doesn't "warm up" any or better or worse than before. However, as you mention, low idle warmup does cause more particulate matter to be produced which is caught by the DPF, filling it up faster. An active regeneration does require high RPM. So does passive...

Warm ups during storage/times of no use?

My Kubota B2920 would be done by mid November. I would park it in an unheated enclosure for 5 months. No tender, and no disconnecting of the battery. Always started up just fine in the spring. A few weeks is no big deal.

    Tow Straps

A new "Jeep" "Cherokee" is a far cry from the old one that ended in 2001. They aren't really 4x4, either...the engine is transverse and just uses clutches and couplings to direct the power to the rear when necessary. Perhaps it can "lock" the clutches but there never is a real, mechanical...

    That's awesome Fordtech. Thanks!

    L4060 steering shaft grommet

Interesting. Hadn't heard of that product before.

Noticed a few things poking around under the hood of my L4060

Thanks SheepFarmer. Very interesting, I do like getting to the details of systems on these tractors. The electromagnetic pump is interesting. It seems like an old school vacuum pulse pump, just using an electromagnet instead of vacuum since it needs to function with the engine off, and because...

Noticed a few things poking around under the hood of my L4060

I'm not old enough for that, but I've been told. You're forgetting about Korea - it used to be Samsung was garbage and now they are a leader, along with LG. Kia and Hyundai started out as total trash, and they too have improved a lot. China can produce good quality, but I don't like it.

    L4060 steering shaft grommet

Thanks! I've seen some of his videos and this is exactly what my problem is. I'll lube the shaft later. Hopefully my pedal doesn't corrode either. I do like the look of the aluminum pedal over the plastic one though.

Noticed a few things poking around under the hood of my L4060

That's a good point about vacuum...and there's no need to have a vacuum pump like a diesel pickup to run a brake booster. I read the turbo engines use boost pressure to open the valve. This is a naturally aspirated engine. Perhaps if I look closer, I'll find a wiring harness going to a solenoid...

Noticed a few things poking around under the hood of my L4060

My tractor is an L4060, meaning a non-turbo V2403 4-cylinder engine. I noticed it does have an EGR cooler, which sits under the exhaust manifold on the left side of the tractor. The cooler has a pipe which goes around the back side of the engine to the right side and into the EGR valve, which...

    L4060 steering shaft grommet

I noticed the grommet on the floor of my cab where the steering shaft passes through was completely pulled out, leaving a hole. I was able to reset it. There is a metal clip on the small end of the grommet that seems to cause the whole grommet to twist as the steering is turned. Anyone else have...

What is this unused pulley for? L4060

Thanks. The belt is tight, but not touching that idler / tensioner at all. Once the belt stretches, I guess I’ll have to adjust it.
