    L3560 limited vs l4060

    Great write up, thanks!

    Fuel beep works great!

Just refilled my L4060. I put the key on the second position and began filling. I was a little below half a tank. As the fuel neared the top, an intermittent beeping began. As it got more full, the beeping became quicker, before finally becoming continuous when it was full or just about full...

    Trailering the Tractor

430HP and 475lb-ft. It tested very well pulling 16k lbs up in the Rockies. Engine was screaming at 5000rpm though.

    Trailering the Tractor

Legally, the trailer can never weigh more than what the manufacturer's GVWR tag states. That's also what you are registering it for. There is a difference between what the trailer can safely carry, especially with upgrades, but from a legal perspective it's what the tag says. Some...

    Trailering the Tractor

Just because the axles are only 3500lbs, doesn't mean the trailer is only 7000GVW. Many trailers are rated higher because they know some of the weight is carried by the truck via the hitch. For example, my Cam Superline 18' equipment trailer has two axles, 8-lug, 7k lbs each. yet the trailer has...

    Trailering the Tractor

In the night time pic, I was towing an 18-foot deck tandem axle equipment trailer with a GVWR of 16,200lbs loaded with a Kubota L4310 GST 4x4 tractor, loaded rears, and a 6-foot flail mower. The weight of the tractor, loader, and implement was approximately 6200lbs. The empty weight of the...

    Trailering the Tractor

I'm not sure you need to look past this forum...quite a few of us tow. I tow my tractors sometimes several times per week moving from job to job. I've towed with a variety of trucks, see pics below. Some were definitely better than others.

    Trailering the Tractor

Good advice from Capn Dean. I think 1800lbs tongue weight would just about lift the front end of an F-150 off the ground. Gooseneck in a 1/2 ton is never a good idea. OP, what did you not like about your 6.7L diesel? I've had several and they have been very good tow vehicles.

How to deal with Wasps and Hornets

Excellent post, thank you. I didn’t know any of that. In the off season, I bought a Kubota with a cab. But I will keep the other solutions in mind for the many times I’ll be in the outdoors.

    BX Battery

My experience with Optima is that they are “OK.” I have a red top in my GMC 3500 plow truck. But I think Odyssey batteries are better. They work well for winching and last a long time. That said, I usually just put replacement Interstate batteries in from the dealer when it comes to Kubota...

    Tow Straps

Shackle through the drawbar hole if you can find a pin to fit the hole. Otherwise, remove the drawbar and use a large shackle in the square mount.

    Adding outside temp display?

So I received the sensor and display today - it does look to be very high quality. I will have to extend the sensor wires and power wires, etc. One nice feature is that there is a dimming wire which connects to the headlight circuit. This causes the temperature display backlighting to dim to...

    BX Battery

You can't get a replacement original. Most dealers just sell Interstate. I got 16 years out of the original Kubota battery in my 2002 L4310. 8 years is nothing!

    Adding outside temp display?

We had a fully functioning imperial system...I’m of the mindset “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” I couldn’t care less what the rest of the world does. And frankly, if the socialists are doing it, I prefer to do the opposite.

    L4060 steering shaft grommet

Thanks (Paul?). I still do like the aluminum look though, just need to keep it from corroding.

    Adding outside temp display?

I agree, although I understand metric sockets better than SAE. But when it comes to inches vs mm or cm or meters...please give me US measurements.

    Adding outside temp display?

Thanks guys. North Idaho Wolfman, I really liked your first suggestion. I ended up buying a new one in white to better match the instrument backlighting of the L4060. These are made in the USA - so it did cost $60 but I think it will be well worth it. I'm going to mount it inside the tractor...

    Adding outside temp display?

    Lol, similar to Flip's suggestion.

    Tow Straps

Yeah! That was my post. Glad it helped, they are useful. Lots of newer vehicles are hard to recover without a lot of great places to attach to. One thing I'll say about the new Cherokee is they give you a lot of features...

    Adding outside temp display?

Interestingly, on Ford Super Duty trucks, the temp probe is located on the bottom of the passenger side mirror. On RAM Heavy Duty trucks, the probe is located in a small channel under the left side mirror. Of course, these trucks all come standard with large towing mirrors that stick out...
