Hello y'all:

I'm new here and I have enjoyed (and appreciated) this site while figuring out what I wanted to do. I tried out the Boomer and Workmaster and the choice became clear pretty quickly: Stick with what I like and stay with Kubota!

Very long story short, I feel fortunate to have gotten an L3200DT (4x4) with a LA524 loader. I say that because my local dealer sold out of the L3200's not long ago due to the Tier 4 emissions fear thing.

After expressing my concerns about the Tier 4 engine and the extra cost, he found what I wanted in the inventory of a dealer not too far away who owed him a favor, so he did a "dealer transfer" yesterday. I gave it a test drive today and said; "I'll take it".

I tried to get more for my OLD (circa 1979) L245 (two dealers offered me $2000) but the fellow would not budge. I've been told I could do a lot better on Craig's List, so we'll see about that.

Apparently I got in "under the wire" for last quarter's factory incentives: $2,000 off the tractor and $500 off the loader. I was told it went down to $1000 this month.

So, I paid $12,000 for the tractor and $4000 for the loader. I think I did OK, but I'm REALLY happy to get the "old school" engine.

I look forward to hanging around here and appreciate all the info y'all provide.

Regards,
RWR

You'll LOVE that tractor!! And at that price its a heck of a good deal. I wouldn't to too anxious to get rid of the 245 - it is worth more than it'll get you. I sold off my L185 and have regretted it - it would be a fun restoration, and there are so many times you want a different implement for just a few minutes, that it would be handy to have the 2nd tractor.
