Charging for tractor services and manual labor?

He is just allowing for the loading and driving time and hoping it averages out. From the time you walk out the door to go to work you are at work. Loading and driving is part of the job. At least charge em from the time you load to the time your ready to leave the job site. There are only so...

Best way to remove roots from ground?

I know this will sound a bit silly but a brush hog works great when running really close the the ground on those roots shown in the top and middle picture. It's slow work but so does a set of limb loppers and/or a saws all. At least these get the stuff you have worked up and can see.

Charging for tractor services and manual labor?

Remember time spent loading and securing the equipment and hauling times or distance. So keep in mind a "minimum" on equipment charge might be worthwhile. If you have insurance, wear and tear on your hauling rig and trailor, tires, fuel, oil and maintence, etc etc to be figured in on your...

    L3560 vs L4701

Re: 3560 vs 4701 I have a L3660. Only advantage I see in your 4701 is pto horse power for your brush hog work. And with the stall gaurd setting on the L3560 I am not sure the extra pto power on the 4701 will really make much difference. Personally after a lot of research before I bought. Some...

    Kubota 3901or kubota 4060?

The 4060 will be heavier by quite a bit which will help with the digging and plowing. It will have stronger hydraulics for the rock moving. It will have a bit more PTO power for the bush hogging. No idea from what you posted but if the 4060 is HST transmission then i think you will like the...

Binders and Chains or Ratchet Straps

Chains and binders used here. Careful use of straps can work but with chains there are no worries about cut straps from abrasion problems. The same chains are handy for many other uses also. If your hauling your tractor a lot and it does not have a easy place to hook your choice of tie downs...

    First tractor.....first post.

Welcome to the site. I also read on here a lot before i bought my tractor. Keep in mind that bush hog has a tendency to chew up items you did not intend to [emoji37] It will like to wrap items around the blade and shaft. Such as wire that was not there the last 3 times you mowed [emoji15] And...

    Top link on L1500DT

Does your tractor have a front in loader ? I am getting the impression it does not. If it does a bit of dirt scooped into the loader helps on balance. You could also rig up some weights on the front. Do you have a Box blade? With only a couple of teeth dropped it might help on the root...
