Magicman, what works for me is to clamp my bag in then hold the vacuum sealer up with the bag down and vacuum and seal. The juices don't like to travel vertical as easy.

Disking or tilling I do a clean-up pass at the ends as I never lift or lower in the same spot always some at the start or end not done. This adds a nice finished look.
