Odd tool no idea what it was used for, any idea?

You guys and gals are awesome! The husband was a surveyor but I guess somewhere along the way he acquired the cobbler pliers. Now that I have a starting point I'll do some research and let my aunt know more about them. Thanks for all the responses. Jay

Odd tool no idea what it was used for, any idea?

My aunt was helping to clean out a house with a friend and found this tool. The husband had passed years before and the wife recently. As they were going through things found this tool. She brought it to me as she was curious what it was called and used for. Told her I would post it here and...

Mulch leaves with a flail mower

Seems it will sling them everywhere, but neat outside the box thinking. Give her a whirl and see. For me I blow mine in a big piles wait till it rains good on them then pile in the bucket of the tractor and off to the garden I go. I spread them out, wait till they are wet so I can pack them in...

Painting the bottom of the loader bucket?

Once a year I paint the bottom with brown primer where the paint is gone, just to help protect it. But I am also the one who waxes the tractor prior to winter and in the spring. Just makes it easier to clean it and a good opportunity to check her over for any leaks or repairs that may be needed.

    Did you get yours yet?

I have not and I do get a small check back each year so they have my account info. No check yet for my 5 year old daughter yet either. I know of a number of people here at work they have gotten theirs.

RTA1250 Tiller Push Button PTO- LOVE/HATE

I keep my PTO greased with Amsoil heavy duty grease and the cover on it. The button I keep it sprayed with silicone spray. While sometimes a pain more often than not the button presses freely and the grease allows the connection to slide on relatively easy.

What Trailer Should I Buy for My Kubota L3901?

I friend of mine who is in a lease with me has a 18' dove tail car hauler. It is rated at 7K and the lease is about 30 miles round trip which we do 6 or 7 times a year. With the loader on and a brush hog it hangs off the back about 2 feet. The disk about the same. It does fine, it has brakes...

    Moly is out

I switched from read and tacky to the Amsoil heavy duty with 5% moly and love it. I find it stays where I put it, grease every 10 hours couple of pumps on each zerk and done. Like it so much bought a case back in February, I'll stay with it. Good luck in your choice. Jay

What to do after clearing brush?

If possible like was said run over it with the hog few more times different directions. If you have a disk after chopping it up a few more times once it is dry may could disk it. After the additional cuttings and a disking bolt some tires together and drag over it will bust up clogs and help...

I've had the the EA attachment sub soiler for 4 years now and it does what I want. I have broke one shear bolt while using it, hooked a big root and snapped it. I use it in my garden twice a year, go long ways first and then across it. My tractor is 46 HP and I pull it in 4wd in low 2nd gear...

    Hydraulic Oil Filter is Stuck

I have had luck with a large pair of channel lock pliers big ones handles maybe 16 to 20 inches long. I found the key was to grab it close as possible to end where it attaches so as not to twist the filter and distort it. Good to see you won. Have a great Friday guys and gals. jay

    Creating a trailer parking pad

I believe in the long run removing the organic mater will be the best choice it will rot and leave voids. As far as the rock may be best to put couple inches and pack it in, let it be rained on and settle. Come back later with a couple more. My neighbor put about 6" of rock in front of his new...

    Hydro oil Filter question L4400HST

I would just change the filter and I'm also assuming the manual is referring to how to change the oil and filter. Some use a vacuum cleaner stuck in the hydro oil fill port to assist in not having the oil pour out. Others park tractor on a small incline to aid as well sideways with filter on...

New Grease Gun On The Way.

I have had the 20V Dewalt grease gun for 3 years and love it. I only picked Dewalt because I had 8 batteries so bought tool only for $120.00 bucks. I picked battery powered because I can grease my implements that are out behind the barn with no need to pull a air hose out there. I also carry...
