Top Link Questions

Recently acquired an '86 B7200E Kubota. The top link is one of the gold-colored ones from Tractor Supply.

All other parts are original OEM kubota (bottom arms, sway links, etc), but the top link is aftermarket.

Are the TSC top links okay to use? Or are there better ones out there? Not looking to go with a hydraulic unit or anything fancy like that.

EDIT: Obviously I need to make sure I have a Cat 1 top-link, I know that much

They are fine, I have 3 of them. I leave them on the implement set to the desired length so each time I use the implement little to no adjustment is required.

I spray the threads and balls with silicone spray so they adjust easy if need be.

Sure - Like Creature Meadow, I leave the top links with the implement so that they're already adjusted to how I like to run each implement.... saves time and frustration. Just a couple of squirts from the oil can on the swivel balls and pins, and we're ready to roll.

The length of the top link is far more important than the brand. When I added Pat's Quick Hitch my top link was no longer long enough. I had to purchase one a couple inches longer for proper adjustment.

Thanks all. I don't plan on using the 3 point for much. I was going to get one of those receiver hitch units for trailers and leave that on .

Only other thing I may use the 3-point for would be a rear blade or york rake, but that would be for such a small amount of time.

Ideally you tow from a draw bar.

This keeps the pulling forces below the center line of the rear axle and minimizes the front wheels coming off the ground.

If you are going to pull from the 3 pt hitch then be certain to get an anti rise design.

The 3 pt arms are not restricted in their upward movement so if you don't have an anti rise 3 pt hitch,then back a load up on a trailer, the trailer tongue may suddenly rise up scaring you.

The anti rise feature comes from the connection to the top link attachment point on the tractor.

Yes, I was going to get one that looks like an upside-down "T" to connect to all 3 points. That was why I was asking about the top link, as i will need it for the 3rd point.

I have a plain drawbar now, but it doesnt have the upright to connect to the 3rd point. I have the top link, but nothing to connect it to.

Double check about using a top link with the design I posted as It would become a pivoting hinge and render the anti lift feature useless.
