Has anyone worked both L2501 and L3301, or L3901?

both the L2501 and our L3901 were/are HST drive. I would not own a geared tractor again after using HST- almost all of our work is FEL, pallet forks, bush hog, grader/scraper work

Has anyone worked both L2501 and L3301, or L3901?

We had an L2501 for about 5 months and sold it for an L3901. The L2501 will get your work done fine but it bogged down with the bush hog on our hills. For the price difference, there is no comparison to the much more powerful L3901. We can run heavier duty 5 foot implements on the L3901. You...

    Looking @1 tractor.. advise.

"But for a one-time activity like that, it's going to be much cheaper, easier, and faster to hire someone with a dozer to come clear the trees and then you get the exact tractor you need for the rest of the time to finish off the project" Hire out the land clearing. Tree felling is dangerous...

    First time tractor buyer

L3560 is on a larger frame than the L3901, wider, longer wheelbase and heavier. L3560 will have more hydro power so more lifting capacity. Depends on what you need. We looked at both and went L3901 due to easier to move around in the woods and fits in our 8' garage door without folding the...

    Questions for a new owner-to-be (L2501)

any half ton truck will easily tow an L2501, it is a fairly lightweight tractor. Just make sure you have a tandem trailer with electric brakes

    B vs L

L2501 does not have DPF, but it is not a big issue at all if you need more horsepower to go to an L3301 or L3901 with DPF. B series has the mid mount PTO that is easily damaged in the woods, so if you don't need that feature an L is the ticket If I were getting a cab tractor I would go bigger...

    L2501 price check for TN

North Georgia- L2501 4wd HST, with loaded R-4 tires, $13,100 after rebate for cash, plus accessories and tax (we are exempt). L3901 4wd HST, with loaded R-4 tires, $16,900 after rebate for cash, plus accessories and tax (we are exempt) well worth the difference in price. We love the L3901

    Difference L2501 and L3901

we had a series of 2wd Ford tractors for decades, then an L2501 for about 6 months then sold it and got an L3901. The L2501 was underpowered or our use, particularly at the PTO, and it struggled on hills with the mower. The L3901 is dramatically more powerful. The emissions is not an issue and...

    Yes..another newbie owner post.

We never did hear whether that engine was fine or not, just lots of speculation. Obviously it is much easier to restore things that still run, its simple. Guess you have no experience with restoring old vehicles. But some people have a lot of free time to tinker/waste, not us. Better to fix up...

I would sell the old tractor for whatever you can get, even scrap value, and buy one that is running

    How do they?

the L3901 has significantly more seat of the pants power than an L3301, well worth the extra $1500. It is our dealer's best selling standard L model

    New Owner

our L3901 uses about a gallon of low sulfur diesel an hour. Our bush hogging is slow going, lots of small plots and trees, not much in the way of large open fields, with several miles of 12 foot game trails
