know I need a tractor, but too much or to little??

If it needs weight, the manufacturer usually provides it. By having no down pressure, the implement has a means of escape if you encounter something hard. Take a rototiller, Put 300 lbs of down pressure on that and hit an average size stone and you will break something. Unweighted, the tiller...

A guy I flew with that lived in Denver had a Husky. The dog would cry by the door at sunset in winter when it was snowy because he loved to burrow under the snow and spend the night outside. They'd open the back door the next morning and call and he pop up from the snow with a smile on his face...

    Extened Warranty

TXDoc, This probably isn't any help whatsoever but, I just bought a three year extended warranty for my L3800 (does not include the FEL) for $1300.

    SUV mounted rear blade????

That's actually pretty dang cool. As long as you tackle it 4-6" at a time you should be in great shape. Probably cheaper than a good thrower! Wonder what is does when it comes in contact with the driveway! Probably an inch or so give in the hitch mount... I bet they are aluminum because in...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Alex, Great looking trailer! Did you make that up as well? Beautiful scenery in your country... I remember visiting as a kid back in the 60's. Looks like you have no shortage of firewood. Love your posts and pics. :) ZB, The FEL will double the usefulness of your tractor. Whether moving...

AYE CARAMBA! You must have dog food delivered by the pallet!:p My neighbor years ago had a 15 year-old daughter who decided she wanted a puppy. The puppy she brought home was 3/4 wolf. 1/4 Mal. Gorgeous and sweet but every time Coda yawned, it put shivers down my spine. Dog had more teeth than...

    CaveCreekRay-R U Alright?

Since they did away with emissions testing for scooters, that is four trips a year I no longer make south of Carefree Highway risking my life in PHX traffic on a bike. Imagine mixing it up with rush hour traffic on a plum colored Vespa 150? Those things are scary enough but, my wife HAD to have...

    3 point lift

Skip, I just went through heck getting my defective 3pt valve replaced under warranty by Kubota. The valve alone for the L3800 has no replaceable parts and must be purchased intact: $950US Hog ho-ey. The parts are pretty simple inside and any machine shop could probably make you a new valve...

    CaveCreekRay-R U Alright?

Corey is pretty hilarious... We watch him most mornings for the local weather. He is pretty hard to mess up. Yeah after all these years in the desert, after it gets over 2900, you just don't notice it anymore. :) My brother in L.A. said "Imagine how hot 2900 make the inside of your car!" i told...

SURVEY: Chattering 3 Point (going up)

Needless to say, Kubota didn't get good scores on my Owner Survey today. Having my machine out of hand for three and a half weeks is unacceptable. And that is the nice word for it! AND, I mentioned I shared the whole process with the Orange Forum, including pictures!

TJ, That was AWESOME! We ought to make that the Orange Forum motto: "Get Knowed-up On All things Orange!!!" :D

SURVEY: Chattering 3 Point (going up)

Burt, Nope! Working like it is supposed to work. Valve assembly replacement seemed to have done the trick. I can adjust my box scraper up by 1/2" or less consistently. Before, it jerked up about 2" at a time. Smooth as can be now.

Leaky valves = lower compression = lower heat upon combustion = incomplete combustion, especially after what Shaun said about dumping raw gas in upon shutdown. Surprising the old thing ran at all. That carbon will glow like a glow plug and that may have been just enough to keep it running...

Another brand new B6000D owner (very green) with questions

Nav, Somebody with way better experience than me will be answering you shortly but, is that tractor manual or HST (hydrostatic) transmission? Somewhere on the site is a story about a guy who split his tractor and used home made "roller skates" for the two halves of the tractor. Made splitting...

Nav, Somebody with way better experience than me will be answering you shortly but, is that tractor manual or HST (hydrostatic) transmission? Looks like a great model to restore! Take lots of pictures and share them as you go through the project. Good luck & WELCOME!!! Ray

New L3301 HST comes with questions

What Wolfman says... 1. On the top link and check chains, do you put a wrench to the locking nuts or just hand-tighten them? If you are just doing a quick chore, I hand tighten the drag links. They'll loosen over time and this is the main reason people are going to "quick hitch arrangements"...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Shaun, Met a farmer yesterday who winters out here. He is a rice farmer from north of Sacramento. He said the leading cause of the drought was the enviro-nazis who have essentially shut off the water flow to the southern San Joaquin valley because of a non-native fish that is happy living in...
