Cab or No Cab... That is the Question

I live in TN, weather wise no true need for a cab. I'm on and off quite a bit and am in the woods some, so the cab would just get in the way. If it's cold enough for snow, I'm skiing not working on the tractor ;)

Digging out from the big storm.

Looks like you have the perfect BX attachment for clearing snow ... your son ;)

    New Backhoe

The stabilizers are very strong in the vertical plane and can lift the tractor with weights very easily. The problem is that they are not strong in the horizontal plane. So with the tractor (with or without filled tires) lifted off the ground, if you were to pull or push hard enough with the...

    BH 77 bucket hook mounting

I just hook the chain end onto the lip of the bucket, but I'm not moving anything so heavy as to be anywhere near the limits of my hoe. Certainly not heavy enough to bend the bucket lip. If you add a hook, post up some pics and let us know how you like it.

    Trailer tips-driving, loading, and unloading

I put the bucket 1/2" off the floor and drive forward till it's butted up against the front rail, making it easier to ensure no forward movement while hauling. I'm just lucky that it puts the weight just right for proper tongue wt on my setup so that I didn't have to mark a position on my...

    Backhoe for L2501 Questions

I checked both the BH77 manual and the tractor manual. Only one mention that it's not recommended to have weighted rears while the backhoe is installed. No mention of why. It also mentioned to not weight the front tires. Didn't know that was even a thing. My dealer said they recommend fluid...

10 acres - what would you get?

The L2501 is heavier and less ground clearance, so would be a better choice for farm type ground work where weight is needed. The big B is lighter, more ground clearance, longer wheel base but shorter turn radius, so better for landscaping and working in the woods. Mine is for the yard and...

10 acres - what would you get?

I've seen several folks say the L2501 has a higher lifting capacity than the bigger B's. According to the specs, the L2501 comes with the LA525 loader, lift capacity of 1082 lbs (820 lbs forward of the pins). My B2650 came with the LA534 loader with lift capacity of 1146 lbs (827 lbs forward...

    Backhoe for L2501 Questions

I'll dig out my manual when I get home this evening. I was told by the dealer the hoe works much better with the additional weight in the tires. I usually don't lift the rear tires completely off the ground when digging, but the outriggers will lift it without any struggle. I feel perfectly...

I should bloody well know better

It may not help, but wouldn't hurt to ask the RK store manager to review the security cam of the parking lot. May not exist but would be worth asking.

    Fool Me Once....

If I'm backing up looking forward I'll use my heel to push down on the reverse portion of the pedal. If I'm backing up looking rearward, I rotate in the seat to my left, then use my foot to lift up on the toe portion of the pedal instead of trying to push down on the heel part. Much easier for...

    Buying Trailer Ramps

You've got "belly mower" listed on your member id. That will lessen your clearance so make sure your ramps are long enough to make the entrance angle shallow enough to clear the mower. Without the mower, much shorter ramps would be fine.

    Backhoe for L2501 Questions

Mine came with filled tires from the dealer as standard with the BH77. When I took delivery, first thing I did was run it from stop to stop in all directions. Nothing was close to hitting. Safety stickers note that it's possible to hit the lift arms with the bucket, but mine won't hit even if...

    B2650 Steering Column Boot fix?

Sounds like a defective boot to me, molded items can vary a lot. You might consider discussing it with your dealer. If it's not damaged and just a molding defect, they might replace it for free or just shipping costs. Does your throttle bar go thru the boot as well or is yours a different design?

    Backhoe for L2501 Questions

I've got the BH77 on my B2650. It's a workhorse, you'll love it. The subframes are model specific, meaning you will need an L2501 subframe. If you are getting it thru a dealer they will know what to get. If you are looking to buy a BH77 elsewhere, you will need to look up the specific...

    B2650 Steering Column Boot fix?

No clips holding it in, it just has a groove that the edge of the dash sits in. The throttle bar also goes thru the boot so that keeps it in place as well. I took pics but can't seem to get them from my phone to my computer.

    B2650 Steering Column Boot fix?

It's a 2018 and I haven't had a need to even look at how the boot attaches. If I get a chance to run out to the mancave, I'll take a look and maybe a pic if it helps.

Anyone using Pallet Forks with a Man Cage?

I just stand in the bucket, or on the lip of the bucket if I need to get a little higher. I do turn off the engine, lock on the brakes, and use the outriggers on the backhoe so she doesn't wiggle on me. Not an OSHA approved method, but substantially safer than most of my hobbies.

    B2650 Steering Column Boot fix?

Mine only has 24 hrs on her, but I haven't noticed any issues with the boot. I use the tilt function on the steering column each and every time I get on or off and the boot stays put. Maybe I got lucky but if it were loose that would drive me nutz.

rear blade- 6 way or 3 way

Yeah, sorry, I meant 6ft, typing in a hurry again. I'm more concerned about offsetting and angling to mend ditches than I am about covering my tracks though. I may just see how much damage I can do with the box tilted as much as possible. Thanks for the replies and my apologies to Orange1 for...
