Can I do my own 1st service

You may want to check with your dealer. I was less than 50 hrs and needed hydro fluid because of a line leak. I was buying SUDT2 and the dealer said I had to use regular SUDT because that's what was initially put in, and mixing the synthetic SUDT2 into it would not be good. I had assumed it...

BH77 backhoe on L2501 - with one operator in each seat

Sounds like good news. My dealer told me it was no longer an option, but sounds like it still is for the L series, just not the bigger B, maybe because of the cab option. Either way you go, make sure you get the right length stick controls. Mine came with both sets but I had to ask for them.

    Looking at B2301, B2650, L2501, or maybe BX2380

As mentioned, the 2650 and 2501 are very similar in many respects, and will both do what you are needing done. To me they had a very different feel. I would highly recommend test driving both to get a feel for the controls and how you position on it. For me it made my decision once I did...

BH77 backhoe on L2501 - with one operator in each seat

I don't know about the L2501 specifically, but for my 2650 the BH77 did not come with it's own seat. It came with a replacement subframe for the tractor seat to allow it to spin around. Only the cabbed tractor version of the BH77 came with it's own seat. I was told that getting the seat for...

    proper operating RPM

That's good info to know. Any hour meter I've ever added to equipment has been simple time counters that turn on when the engine is running and off when not. Also, I've not put an hour meter on anything in the past 8-10 years. Sounds like the newer electronics are, well, newer ;) I'm...

    Backhoe vs mini excavator

Buy the mini ex if it's legit, use it to do what you need, then resell it for the same price.

BXpanded BH77 Backhoe Quick Attach Video Review

Nice video, thanks for sharing. I've not run into any of those problems yet. First, I don't have a factory thumb. Second, I purchased the quick attach along with their tooth bar. I mounted them both up to use, and have not yet changed back to the bucket. The tooth bar by the way is VERY...

    proper operating RPM

However, all revolutions are not equal, otherwise you'd always run everything at idle. Revolutions at stress (think lugging the engine under power) cause a lot more wear and tear than unstressed revs (doing the same chore at a higher rpm that does not lug the engine). Adjusting the rpms to the...

    B2650 35 hour review

Nice write up, should help folks with future decisions. I agree with getting the larger bucket. I was concerned with exceeding the lift capacity if I got the bigger one, but I see now that it's not a concern. Live and learn.

    New member, B2650 questions

I had a similar experience when I told them I wanted turfs. He said everybody else gets the R4s. I said "Great, I'll take those as long as everyone else is paying for it". He laughed and said "turfs it is".

    Kens Bolt On Hooks

What?? Those scratches aren't supposed to be there?? :D

    Kens Bolt On Hooks

Ditto. I was going to buy Kens hooks, but before I got around to ordering them, I just hooked the chain to the back of the bucket. Works so well I don't need or want hooks. I guess if you were using chain with no hook on the end they would be needed.

    Old and dumb

I've done that several times. Now I make it a habit of hitting the steering wheel adjust pedal to let it swing all the way up before I get off the tractor. When I get back on I have to pull the wheel back down before I can drive. The adjust pedal is next to the parking brake pedal, so it...

    Which box blade for L3301?

Dirty beat me to it. I second the EA recommendation.

    New member, B2650 questions

As far as the BH77, on off is pretty simple once you do it a time or two. Mine stays on and makes good ballast, unless I'm using the box blade which is infrequently. I went with the EA box blade. Top tier stuff, should last 3 life times. Beefy. I went with turf tires. Plenty of grip...

    B2650 HSD price check

Yep, sounds right in line. I also would suggest the bigger bucket. I got the 54", wish I had the 60".

New turf tires for the kubota L2501 almost ends in disaster.

Hard to argue with that

Hauling loader in the air unsecured

The whole topic is pretty entertaining to me. Lifting a 100 lb bucket 3 feet off the deck does not raise the center of gravity of a 5000 lb tractor by a substantial amount. The wind resistance is negligible unless you are on a race track or near a tornado compared to the weight of the tractor...
