    B2301 or B2601?

The slightly smaller, slightly less powered one would never be "better for my uses". I would naturally get on the 26 vs the 23 every time, even though I've never had seat time on either one. My main point was that as small as the differences are between them, they will both work fine.

    B2301 or B2601?

My brain sees things a bit different than most I guess. If both tractors were sitting in my garage, which one would I get on and use? That's the one I'd buy. In the end, they will both work for what you need.

To 4WD or Not To 4WD

To answer your 2 vs 4wd question, I'd recommend you work it both ways. After some seat time in each you will develop a sense of when 4wd is beneficial and when it is a hindrance. It will also give you a better feel for how much you can push/pull without breaking traction. There is a lever to...

LX2610 Manual Says No Tire Fluid When Operating the Loader

If I had to pick between lawyer and engineer, I'd guess a lawyer wrote those parts.

LX2610 Manual Says No Tire Fluid When Operating the Loader

I understand the reasoning behind them saying to not fill the rears with backhoe use. Filled tires does not put any extra forces on the axle and has no affect on how light or heavy the front end is. Where it can come into play is if you raise the rear end too much with the stabilizers, that...

LX2610 Manual Says No Tire Fluid When Operating the Loader

Loaded rears do help. Any weight behind the front axle is ballast to help keep the rear of the tractor on the ground vs going up in the air (pivoting on the front axle. This weight also gets transferred to the front axle as the loader exerts force. You are correct that weight added behind the...

LX2610 Manual Says No Tire Fluid When Operating the Loader

They have been know to have mistakes in their manuals. I can't think of any reason for removing fluid for loader work, that's counterintuitive. I had asked for my tires to not be filled, the dealer filled them out of habit saying they always fill them if a loader is attached as standard...

I'd rather have that than the tofu ;) I grew up in Oak Ridge, TN. I only have 10 fingers and 10 toes so all's good.

    Damage to Bxpanded ripper

That style of ripper is meant to concentrate all the force into a very small surface area. Something's gotta give. Usually it's the root, sometimes not. I'm glad to see the ripper bend as opposed to your boom or BH attachment points, or subframe, or link pins, etc. I'm guessing they use the...

    The right to repair

I was miffed the first time I went to check the oil on my 335 and realized there was no dipstick to be found. Dealer said to just let them do all the oil changes and repairs like everyone else. No thanks. A quick trip to youtube and you can be bmw master mechanic in no time. A quick flash...

Does she use it? Mine wanted a bunch of flowers put in. I balked at having to weedeat around them. She offered to take care of it if I got her a nice electric weedeater. Purchase was made, she used it once, 3 years ago. Flowers have since been 'accidently' mowed over, but I really do like...

Every bit of energy on earth, no matter what type you want to talk about, comes from the sun, a giant nuclear reactor. I wouldn't be surprised if in some variation of the future, most of earths electricity gets supplied by nuclear reactors, with the waste products getting put on rocket aimed...

KTAC insurance rate hike - again!

Yeah, I wrote that quickly and it sounds a lot more argumentative than intended. Sorry if it came off that way. Yes, for me it works well, but there are many instances where insurance would be beneficial. Part of my response was due to the fact that the dealer was very insistent that I...

KTAC insurance rate hike - again!

If I roll it over it would be because I tried doing something that physics didn't allow and that would be my fault, I should fix it. Other than a forest fire that takes my house and garage, if the tractor catches fire it's because I did something wrong or didn't pay attention and correct...

KTAC insurance rate hike - again!

I may be in the minority here, but I don't have any ins on my tractor or my Ferriss. I figure if I break em, I fix em.

The point of my sarcasm is that an electric (battery powered) generator doesn't exist because using electricity to run a motor to turn a generator to produce electricity is a losing endeavor. I agree with your point that coal is not as efficient or clean as natural gas, I have a propane honda...

So, in the future when everything is electric ... I guess when your power goes out from a storm or whatnot, you would just crank up your battery powered electric backup generator to produce electricity to run your house and recharge your electric generator batteries. Sounds like a well thought...
