    Inexpensive Lighting upgrade

Could you please tell me where you bought your light bar, and the make and model if possible? Thank you.

    Rebuilt Engine Too Tight

I agree. A SLIGHT bit of oil on any of the parts, parts that are too warm from sitting in the sun, or mishandling of the plastigage will give you a false reading. A GOOD inside and outside micrometer is what is needed for accurate measurements, which should be performed at least every 90...

Looking for Parts to keep on hand and other great tips

Like most people, I buy filters ahead of time. I learned a valuable lesson in storing air filters. Put them in a plastic tote, don't leave them in the OE box on the shelf, or you will find a mouse condo and a ruined filter when you go to use it.

Engine knock dealer says new motor

Old post, I realize, but unless I missed the post, no one did an oil pressure check on the engine. I have never seen an engine with a knock that didn't have horrible hot oil pressure.

    Joys of new tractors

Bought a brand new Tacoma from a local dealer. Drove the truck home and the next day I checked all the fluid levels and bolt torques (something that I do on every new vehicle that I buy. Coolant: 4 ounces low Auto Trans: 4 ounces low Front Differential: 2 ounces low Rear Differential: 22...

    Ripped Off

Early on in your post you stated " There's nothing wrong with the fuel rail as the tractor has all the power it has always had. Now i am looking at possible leaking injectors" If one injector has 3 holes plugged with rust or whatever, the engine could not have been running very well. Also...

    Low Compression

A bit off topic, but related. Years back, my Case 680 CK ate the balance shaft. Pull engine and do full rebuild. New sleeve and piston kit, bearings, seals, gaskets, balance shaft, oil pump, main and rod bolts, valves and guides, valve seats cut. The engine ran OK before it ate the balance...

    Kubota B670 backhoe Nuts

If the pins are designed to be able to rotate during use, a roll pin an inch longer than the diameter of the pin it is retaining is easy to install, easy to remove, but will never fall out.

    Greased the FEL today...

I have a Lincoln air powered grease gun, a HF air powered grease gun and three manual guns. The Lincoln unit pushes more grease with each action, cycles faster, and puts out more pressure than the HF unit. The HF unit cost about a third of the cost of the Lincoln unit. Both units are leak free.

    Missing bolt?

You can get a higher grade carriage bolt IF you wanted one. I believe that they are available in grade 5 and grade 8. Regular carriage bolts are grade 2, which is sufficient for what you are using it for. After I posted, I thought that perhaps a carriage bolt thru the slotted piece, then a...

    Missing bolt?

Though it wouldn't be "correct", I'll bet a common 3/8 inch carriage bolt, flat washer and self locking nut would do exactly the same thing for about a quarter of the cost, and not fall off.

    B-6100e engine smoking

I'm not familiar with this engine. Does it use replaceable valve guides or are they one piece with the head?

In frame honing of good bores.

I have no dog in this fight, but I respectfully disagree with the quote " If you do some research, the last 10% of the bore not honed will not amount to much. First of all it is considered the no wear zone. So the original hatch is still there, as proven by visual, and measurements." There is...

    Examples of Kubota Backhoe Skills

I bought my 680CK from my neighbor 26 years ago. I had never used or had been on a backhoe of any description before. I asked my neighbor (who operates heavy equipment) to teach me how to use the backhoe and the rest. His recommendation was to find an open piece of level ground. Mark out a...

Why a center pivot on the front axle?

I have been reading thru the entire website one post at a time, gathering info. My L4701 Kubota is a year out, perhaps a bit more with the backlog. Gotta sell a house first and get our new (to us) home ready to live in. Too many irons in the fire to add a tractor that would honestly sit for...

Why a center pivot on the front axle?

A tractor has no front suspension for the same reason a milking stool has 3 legs.

M62 no start, sounds like thrown rod...

Unknown to me, the main hydraulic hose feeding the backhoe on my 680CK was pulled loose by a vine. I stopped for lunch, and when I tried to start the loader this same thing happened. The dead headed hydraulic pump wouldn't allow the 268 cubic inch Case diesel to get above a fast crank...
