    Snakes

My nose definitely picked up the cucumber smell. Some 8 years back my testosterone level took a dive from exposure to chemicals at work. Went to the urologist to get testosterone shots, and now I finally give them to myself with quarterly monitoring. After each shot I would get an alcohol...

    Snakes

Snakes follow food. Lots of mice/frogs/bugs, etc will attract whatever preys on them. Bought a house in WV last year. Was mowing some high grass when I smelled a cucumber smell. I stood still and looked around, and sure enough, there was a 3 foot copperhead sunning itself in a patch of lower...

    3rd function valve clatter

Not positive on your tractor. Follow the wires from your switch that actuates the solenoid and you will find the solenoid.

    Linex’d my “step”

Kubota could become a dealer for Linex. The cost to Kubota would probably be less than 1/3 of retail cost. Pass that tiny cost over to the customer. The cost of the Linex would probably be less than the rubber mat.

    Camco exhaust pipe install

You can find the flat metal band clamps in good automotive stores. It uses a flat thin steel band that goes around the pipe and a single bolt and two half round 'washers' to pull the clamp tight. Once they are tight, the never loosen up but can be easily removed. The work in tight spaces much...

    3rd function valve clatter

If you have a no contact thermometer, like Harbor Freight sells for about $20, check the solenoid temps after running and using the attachment and no chatter, then immediately after it chatters to see if there is a heat buildup in the coil that pulls the solenoid open or closed. It the temp...

    Caught Fire!

I have no proof, but I strongly suspect that the $45 part may have the correct part number and look like the $250 unit, but that is where the equality ends. I've been down that road with sensors on cars. Out of twelve or more times I bought the 'identical' item for 25% of the OE unit price...

    Linex’d my “step”

If you don't mind me asking, what did they charge you for the work? Sorry, I found the price in one of your posts. $88 is a great price. I had the bed of my GMC pickup done when it was new. Fantastic product.

    Frame bolts. Is this normal?

The best mechanics usually find themselves in positions such as yours. I'm happy that you found a good shop to work in.

    Strange Experiences...

Back in the 80's I was working for a pharmaceutical company third shift. After i got off of work in the morning (we worked 11 pm to 7 am), I drove to my girlfriends house, got changed from my uniform into jeans and a work shirt and went to work at a junk yard for 5 hours. I was saving up to...

    Buying an L4701DT shuttle?

Thank you for the advice. I will do that. Ripley is the closest, about 40 minutes or so. Right next door almost in WV travel terms.

    Buying an L4701DT shuttle?

If you don't mind me asking, where did you purchase your tractor? There is one dealer literally 5 miles from my house, but I wonder if it is a good dealer or one that would be better to avoid. That would be State Equipment in Cross Lanes WV. I live in Scott Depot.

    Buying an L4701DT shuttle?

Odd thing is the two MX tractors list a differential lock. Thought it was odd, since my 92 Ford 1720 came with one. The operators manual lists a diff lock, but not the info on the Kubota page that you would refer to when considering which tractor to buy. As I take nothing for granted, I...

    Buying an L4701DT shuttle?

This is one of the websites that doesn't show the L4701 as having a differential lock. Odd, because a Kubota web page. https://www.kubotausa.com/docs/default-source/spec-sheets/standard_lseries_specs.pdf?sfvrsn=deee519d_2

    Buying an L4701DT shuttle?

Thank you. I finally found the differential lock listed on on Kubota source, but not two others. Thought it was odd that a tractor would come without it.

    Buying an L4701DT shuttle?

Does the L4701 come with a differential lock? I can't find one listed on the specs. I thought all tractors came with a differential lock.

    Buying an L4701DT shuttle?

I was incorrect about no bolt on cutting edge on the MX. It was the height and turbo engine that I wasn't thrilled with.

    Buying an L4701DT shuttle?

Fantastic. Thank you for the measurement. I was worried the step would be considerably higher.

Wheel weights. Never leave home without them.

    Buying an L4701DT shuttle?

I looked at the MX, but IIRC, a bolt on edge for the loader bucket isn't available, and the tractor is a bit higher than the L. I'd like to keep things lower due to sloping conditions. I appreciate the handle offer.
