New BX23S Owner-Spring Cleaning Implement recommendations

Being that you already have the 3rd function installed I would strongly suggest the grapple. The pallet forks work but you will be more satisfied with grapple. I know some grapples are heavier than others, so it will affect FEL lifting. Also should check on other aftermarket grapples as some...

What BX do you have? QA front bucket on your FEL?

    Damage to Bxpanded ripper

Yes, there is a knife type cutting edge on the ripper. I do use a grinder to maintain an edge to better cut roots. The ripper does a great job for what it is designed to do.

    Damage to Bxpanded ripper

I have had nerve damage and surgery, so I welded a large washer to the QA pin which allows me to better grip the pin with gloves on, without dropping, usually. Very observant. The ripper is 1/2" thick and I am very surprised the 23s BH had ample power to bend that sideways. Will have to be a...

    Damage to Bxpanded ripper

I own a bx23s. I had purchased several items from bxpanded including their BH ripper. While digging out a stump I bent the ripper. Have others experienced this? I have contacted bxpanded and waiting for their reply.

    BX23S Backhoe Outrigger Locks

Paul Short does a GREAT job with modications. However, sometimes the most simpliest ideas are the best in my opinion. I use a bungie but a rachet strap work just as good.

Some of the mods I have done

I purchased a "Bully" aftermarket step and mounted it on the LS subframe on my bx23S. Works great? I do not use my BX to mow so NOT an issue.

    load tires or not

If you don't want the rear ballast all the time use a 3 pt weight box or other 3 pt attachment, mower, rear blade, rear box etc.. If ballast all time is NOT an issue, say with a FEL, frt blade, snow blower, fill the rears. Some dealer do not recommend rimguard for the small BX tires as they...

    Best oil?

Rotella 5w-40 syn. diesel and SUDT2. Howes diesel treat.
  17. S

    Which oil 10w-30 or 15w-40?

I use 5w40 Rotella syn.in both my BX's. The Kubota dealer I worked at always used 15w-40 and that we sold.

    Mixing UDT and Gear Oil

I used to work for a Kubota dealer for 10 yrs. Our service dept. would always use gear oil in the front axle UNLESS the customer wanted SUDT. I currently own 2 bx's, BX 1870 and BX 23S tlb. I drain both at the 50 hr service and used gear oil. I believe they both had SUDT in the front axle.

Adding a 20” bar and ball to my three point hitch

Using the 3-pt for that purpose is dangerous. 3-pts are made for 3-pt accessories. Several companies make a device that mounts to the tractors rear frame where you can than attach a 2" receiver/ball. Even have places to attach your safety chains. If to low for your purpose, get a ball mount...
