BX as a Bead Breaker (for tires)

Thanks for all the comments. I'll attempt this again on a warm day. For info, they are normal "General" studded winter15" tires....not low profile at all. I am not running outside in the rain to check but from memory, something like 195-65(maybe 70) R-15 or whatever.

BX as a Bead Breaker (for tires)

May work Jay, however I had the front wheels right off the ground - and was jiggling the loader control stick. Next time !

BX as a Bead Breaker (for tires)

It is very hard to see but it's all tire you're looking at - not the inside of a rim. I've circled in red where I think it may have let go ever so slightly but in working the tire in 3 - 4 places (both sides) that's the only time I saw that. If I was rich, I'd buy a tire changer. Yeah, will...

BX as a Bead Breaker (for tires)

I've done this in the past, using just the skid steer coupler (no forks or bucket) and it's always worked. Today I tackled some tough old (15" Mini Cooper) winter tires in ally rims and used my forks. FAIL ! I could not break the bead on either side of the tire (there's a chance I got...

To fill or not to fill...also, spacers

I've seen this mentioned 100 times and I don't really get it either. How does 4" on a 4' wide (or whatever) axle supposedly make this (apparently) huge difference? (or even 'measurable' difference) I am not disagreeing with the folks who swear by it, (I've never been in a position to do an A/B...

BX 2380 at 99.7 hours - anything I should especially be looking for?

A "trick" I discovered years ago when mowing during "dandelion season" with the TG (same basic rad setup as a BX) was to tape a kids T-shirt or other thin cloth to the intake screen (by your shins) to block all those pesky dandelion fluffy seed things from sticking (in)to the screen, requiring...

    KTAC cover?

I don't have KTAC, so you can disregard this if you like. (and I am not trying to be rude or a know-it-all) That being said, EVEN if I did have KTAC, I would've done as others had suggested and a couple minutes with me and Mr. Mig and I'd be good to go. I can't stand the hassle of back n'...

    Pallet forks for B2301

You're welcome. To move trailers I can use the hitch on the back of the tractor itself (cumbersome, as QH05 is in the way some of the time) or I can use this, recently purchased at Princess Auto (Harbour Freight sorta place) 4 in. Fork Ball Mount (princessauto.com)

    Weight Box

The first time I tried to lift something really heavy at an odd angle with my forks, one rear tire came off the ground. Shorts turned brown. :poop: An hour later, (after change of shorts) I ordered a ballast box. Only takes once ! Be safe

sighhhhhh. GM Electrical problem need help

Ohm out the harness for that sensor - END TO END (audio mode on your multimeter is easiest). Jiggle wires. Listen to your meter. Find the "open" (or short") That's where I'd start. Dang intermittent problems are the WORST!

Payloader? LOL. This is what I think of when I think about the word "Payloader". ;-) I think you mean FEL (front end loader) In either case, your user manual will tell you what your 1880 can handle. Personally I wouldn't put salt (or calcium or anything caustic) in there for fear of it...

    Pallet forks for B2301

I have a BX (not a B) but I really like my Land Pride (Kubota) PFL1242 forks. I was able to lift 400lbs at the very far ends/tips with my BX the other day with them and saw no deflection in any parts. Granted my BX doesn't have the lift of a B, but they are very similar sized. I even dug some...
