    Ready to buy a tiller

The safe rule of thumb is 1 foot per 5 horsepower. I run a 4' KK behind my B7100- it runs it fine, but it definitely wouldn't take a bigger one. I would say go with a 5' and know that you will be able to handle it, instead of a 6' that will be marginal. A lot also depends on the number of tines-...

    Tires and wheels too wide

A photo or two would help us to understand, possibly including the trailer. I doubt that you can reinforce the fenders enough to support the load of cramming a tractor through them. And, welcome to OTT! It's a bunch of good folks here!

Talk me out of buying a B6000

Regions/prices are different, but from my perspective, you are looking at a good bargain- unless there are untold issues with the tractor. If it is solid, you could at the least resale it and make some money, softening the cost of a newer, bigger tractor. In some cases, the loader alone would...

Any alternatives to a factory check chain set up?

Welcome, and I sent you a PM.

    Turbo B7100

You should put a wanted ad in the sell section- perhaps someone has an old one. You can buy them from Kubota, but I don't know if they just sell the center section. I do know that the complete replacement is expensive.

    Rototiller B2920 & path for handicap ?

Rocks, stumps, saplings, roots- I'd say that a root grapler or rake would be better.

    buying a b7100

I'd say that's a fair price for most any region, if it is mechanically sound, and the implements are in good shape. If I were you I'd give it a good once over mechanically, and if you have the cash, pounce on it. The 7100 is a good tractor, and parts are available.

    Improved stabilizers

Re: Good reason for improved stabilizers I received a call today from a guy looking for stabilizers for an L2250. He lived pretty close by, so I drove over there to look at his tractor. The tractor is 4wd, and he uses a 7 foot scraper blade on it and a 5 foot bushhog, not to mention a 3...

    4x4 conversion

You need to know where the conversion to 4WD is- most likely in the transmission/rear end.. If it is, then you will need more than the axle and driveshaft. The question will be, is your transmission/rear end convertible to 4WD, or do you need another rear end/transmission? My guess would be that...

Front Weights, When to use and How Much?

Oh, ok. Gotcha. That one isn't mine- it belonged to a customer. It is all original, and he keeps it spit and polished in the basement.

Front Weights, When to use and How Much?

    I fixed it for ya, Bulldog. It's a Workhorse/Wheelhorse GT1600.

Front Weights, When to use and How Much?

I use my B7100 to mow with (5' finish mower), till (4' King Kutter tiller), scrape (4' blade), plow potatoes, and pull a trailer. Because of the tiller and mower, I use (2) 55 lb suitcase weights on the front (the frame will hold 3 total), and have the front tires filled with fluid. They weigh...

what is the best drill press for $150?

I disagree. Not everyone can afford equipment like that, and not everyone uses one enough to justify that kind of money. There is a place for the cheaper drill presses. I'm making stabilizers using my $299 Porter Cable, and it works great for my needs. I simply am not selling enough stuff to...

    Home made bucket forks

You may want to cap the ends of the round stock. I could see a load on the forks distorting the bar, and pulling it out of the brackets.

Does this mower make my tractor look small?

You are dead on, Tim. I have two daughters, and a 17 year old son in Heaven. Communication is crucial, coupled with transparency. Tell your kids that you aren't perfect, admit when you've been wrong, practice what you preach, tell them often that you love them, admit that you're wrong some more...

    WTB Kubota 5100 or 7100

About 4 hours north of you, in central Va, is a B6100 for sale. It came out in a local paper yesterday- "Kubota B6100 diesel, $4800, 4WD tractor with 3 pt hitch, 48" woods mower (rear finish) and 5" blade included. 540-943-6835". No hours are listed, but ther is a picture. From what I can see...

what is the best drill press for $150?

Yea- the Black Bull is $199 at ours, too, but they often run it on sale for $179. It looks like a solid drill press, and I would have bought it if it had more power- I was looking for 1 hp.

what is the best drill press for $150?

I went through this recently. I had a tabletop drill press, but it simply didn't have enough power to drill the steel that I was working with. I shopped and shopped, especially watching craigslist, local papers, and a retired gentleman who was liquidating his tools. I searched for months and...

    Chains on Turfs?

There are lots of folks who run chains on turfs on riding mowers all year long- I would imagine it is for traction. Chains do work better on turfs than they do on lugged tires. I don't have experience with them, although I have run chains on an automobile, and don't like the rough ride. If they...
