l185 losing power when warmed up.

I have a L185 and use it in fairly high and thick grass with a 4 foot shredder with no problem. I would insure that you are in the proper PTO speed (1=540 RPM, 2=750? RPM and 3=1000? RPM) [sorry I don't have my operator's manual handy so am going by memory] What happens if you switch from the...

    Working on a slope

Grade is also known as slope. See a comparison of slope and angles at this wiki site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Grades_degrees.svg Kudos to previous poster - 100% is 45 degrees! A full description is here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grade_(slope)

    Tilling ground

Assuming the $77 for 50 pound bag that covers 10000 sq feet that was thrown out are correct numbers then it will only be about $1400 for the seed. 4 acres * 43560 square feet per acre = 174240 square feet to cover 174240 square feet/10000 square feet coverage in each bag = 17.5 bags 18 bags *...

    L2550 Electrical Issue - Ignition & Starting

I am confused to your reference to ignition. There is not really ignition on a diesel (no spark plugs, no coil) so it will run with the key turned off untill the fuel injection is stopped. The newer tractors shut the fuel off through the key and a solenoid. See the information at this link...

Thanks - that right mouse button does wonderful things (when you remember to try it out!)

    Puter geeks

On Windows 7 the easiest way to find anything is to push the "start" button (lower left corner normally). A panel will pop up and at the bottom of that you can see a search function. Type something like microsoft or word and you will see results and will know if the program exists. You can...

    L185F Hi / Lo Selector

I tried to recreate this using the brakes and could not get my tractor "jammed" in one speed. I tried the following different things: Tractor in gear at speed, push in clutch, come to stop holding brake down, try to shift hi/low = success. Tractor in gear at speed, push in clutch, shift out of...

    New tractor, need implement

If you get a box blade make sure you get one with the ripper teeth. Some older ones were basiclly blades with wings, no ripper teeth. The one I have has removable wings but no ripper teeth so it may not be a real box blade - it just came as part of the "tractor deal" There is also something...

Clutch not dis enguaging under load

Just wanted to say hi since you were in Round Rock! I would check the adjustment on the clutch pedal first off since it is probably the easiest thing to do. I don't have a 4WD but you may be getting the front and rear axles into a bind while pushing. I live in Austin and work in Round Rock...

    L185F Hi / Lo Selector

I'll mess around with it the next time I am driving my tractor and let you know. It will probably be this weekend.

    L185F Hi / Lo Selector

Duckstab - glad you got it resolved! I have a L185F also and routinely shift from high to low while holding the brake pedal down and also not holding the pedal down. I find it interesting that yours would not shift with the pedal slightly depressed. I have not looked at the parts manual to see...

    kubota L185

Well I finally got the ROPS installed onto the tractor! The instructions that came with it were easy to follow but lead you down some dead end paths. When I installed mine they said to mount one side and then the other, align the top and install the top splice plate and then tighten both sides...

    Rear Fender Stud/Bolt - L185F

Here is what the studs originally looked like on my L185F: Here is how the other side was repaired - new stud welded to side of broken stud: On mine it looks like you could use a u-bolt or long bolts through a plate that clamps the fender to the axle.

    Just picked up a L225 for $400

Not to be the "safety ranger" but, please get the PTO drive shaft off of the PTO output shaft before someone accidently engages the PTO drive! I imagine you already have removed it but it is a killing machine the way it is shown in the pictures. I agree - it may be that the exhaust needs to...

    L245DT front piniom broke

If any of you like pie and coffee you should visit WinnieCouple in Hico, Texas and make him take you to the Koffee Kup. Classic little cafe in the middle of (basically) nowhere that has the best pies ever - I highly recommend the peanut butter pie! I haven't been in about a year so I am...

    L185F grease points

Found it! Well at least I touched it but couldn't get where I could see it. On mine it is on what I would call the left side (left when sitting in the seat looking forward). The parts diagrams show it on the opposite side but anyway I know where it is now! Thanks to all for the help.

    Rear Fender Stud/Bolt - L185F

I believe that happened and was repaired (before I purchased it) on the L185 that I recently purchased. I will look and see how they repaired it. I personally would not arc weld to the cast iron axle housing. You should be able to braze another stud/bolt on but you will need to worry about...

    L175 Sheet metal work ************

I think I understand. Basically you just formed it from the tail piece that was there. Some dimensions might help - It looks like you cut about 4 to 5 inches off the bottom. One thing I can't figure out though is how/why there is an upward flair at the beginning of this piece. It may just be...
