    Rattle Can and Line-X

Sorry I am easily confused! Did you paint orange on top of the Line X on the fenders? Or did you mean you painted some of the fender with Line X and other parts with the orange masking off the Line X part of the fender. Under side of fenders orange or Line X? It looks very nice.

    L185 transmission oil level plug

Yikes I hope the axles are not seperate or I am in trouble. I have not put any oil back into that, I understood the transmission and axles and the hydraulics are all from one sump. There was about a half gallon of fluid that would not "fit" in the sump, I only got about 5 gallons in before it...

    L1501DT temp guage installed

Very nice looking job. What material - aluminum or SSt? Do you think you could have done a Tee and replaced the hose curve with the Tee? Hose from block into the side of the Tee, hose from radiator into one end of the Tee and the sensor in opposite end.

    L185 transmission oil level plug

Ok - If you say it is a drain I believe you, but what will it drain being half way up the side of the transmission case? I guess it could drain the housing with the 3PH speed control knob? I understand that there are two drains on the bottom of the transmission and two on each axle case near...

    Newbie - '87 7200 or '02 7500??

Some of your decision should be based on how mechaincally inclined you are. Older tractor will probably need more work. As far as the ROPS there is a program from Kubota to get one at a reduced cost and fairly low install costs (if you don't want to do it your self). One thing I notice is...

    My first tractor - L1801DT

There are a couple of articles on the ARTICLE PAGE on steering box repair. I assume they would help you out since your picture looks similar to the steering boxes in the article. See this web site or go to the top of the page and select the "article" tab and find the articles on steering...

    L185 transmission oil level plug

Sorry for the confusion, I guess a few more descriptive words like "side of transmission" would help. Here is a PDF of the parts list - it is number 4 and 5 in the PDF. The part numbers are not the same as the plug and seal at the front of the transmission but the one at the front is the...

    L185 transmission oil level plug

I had ordered a new plug for the transmission oil level plug and got it in. It is not the same as the plug currently in the tractor. The new plug is simply a square head plug (like a pipe plug) and the one currently in the tractor has a hex head and a sealing washer. No big deal, just odd...

    m4900su manuals

You should be able to get them on Messick's. They will probably be copies of the original manual (assuming your tractor is a bit old and the original is out of print). If your tractor is fairly new you may be able to get them from the local Kubota dealer. Here is a link to the Messicks site...

    Which mid-mower for L185?

I know this is well after the post was made but the correct model is the L65 To verify go to Kubota on line parts catalog and search model L185DT (not listed under the L185F for some reason) and select "local options" in the search results. It will take you to the list of options for...

    L3800 loader, Fork capability

For heavy lifting you may want to look at the 3 point pallet mover. For example search KING KUTTER PALLET MOVER. It is rated at 2000 pounds according to their literature. I have no experience with these but seems like it would resolve your issue of occasionally moving heavy pallet loads and...

    Rewiring the L275

Here are some websites that sell wiring connectors for cars. The ones on my tractor are similar to the Delphi Packard style shown in the Electrical Depot website. These are spade connectors that then slide into the plastic housing from the rear, like on about every GM auto sold in the 60s to...

    I hate Xmas lights

I switched to LED lights and got larger bulbs (C5) so there are not so dang many to look through. This is the second year and absolutely no bulbs out. I have about three boxes full of the old ones with something wrong with each string if you woud like them!

    attaching post hole digger

I have a L185 so it is a different tractor than what you have. Not sure what you have for the ROPS but mine looks kind of like a large light bulb. On mine the ROPS is made in two pieces. It was difficult to get on so I did it one side at a time and then got the top aligned and bolted...

    L185 implement question

I have a L185F (2WD) and a 4 foot "bush hog" is about all it can take to have weight on the front end. I have some weight on the front end and with the 4 foot shredder it still is a bit light up front. With a 5 foot it would be too scary for me.

    My cows are acting strange

Bulldog, It may be the place you put the "new" rings is more attractive to the cattle. If the new rings are in a area with less manure the cattle may prefer that over the older more "soiled" area. (see how I was family friendly with that!) From this site...

    What is it?

It looks fairly similar to my L185 but not exactly the same. see the picture below. It could also be the grey market version (L1501? I think). In my picture you can see a nameplate on the side of the transmission. This has the model number and the serial number on it if you can read it. Mine...

l185 losing power when warmed up.

I am still not clear on what happens if it is warm/hot and bogs down and you try to get it cooled down. Does the power return until it gets warmer again? I guess you could try to get it warm/hot/bogged down and then use a hose to cool the radiator down and then see if you can then use the...
