I will take a few pictures of my tractor and e-mail them to you. It is not really restored, but was painted to make it look better before I bought it. But I plan on getting the sheet metal in better shape and painting it. I figured I would go ahead and get the labels that were available. If...

    L175 Sheet metal work ************

Thanks for bumping all these posts. I am curious about the exhaust tip you installed. Do you have any information on the design - dimensions, links to information? I have a L185 and it does kick up a lot of dust from the exhaust. The tip you addeed looks like it was cut from a small shovel...

Is there a difference in service manuals?

The manuals that I purchased (for the L185) from Messicks appear to be "xerox" copies of the original manuals. The pictures are not that clear any longer, but they are the original. I think it is interesting that in the parts manual there is a key to notes that are all on one page. The notes...

    Decals for L175

Not trying to hijack the thread but have a few questions for Gurn. I looked at your thread again and noticed several paint highlights on your tractor - yellow pedals, orange transmision fill, red on the shut down lever... Are those the original colors for those or was that "artistic license"...

    kubotas-online-illustrated-parts-catalog

I have occasional problems getting to the on line parts catalog. IE will just sit with the spinning wheel of annoyance and never get to the "yes I agree..." page on the site. At one time I had disabled the add on for Adobe Shock Wave Player and that caused the catalogs to not work properly at...

    Side Panel

I was not real sure how the dealer would handle it. I have always just ordered small lightweight parts and told them to get them when they could and save as much freight as possible since most of what I needed was not pressing to have (so far!). I had ordered the ROPS and there was shipping on...

    Decals for L175

I just ordered all of the decals for my L185 from the dealer. All of the decals and nameplates were available. The cost of most of them were just around a $1.50. The side decals were a bit more at about $14 each. The "KUBOTA" nameplate on the front was $35. Interstingly there was one decal...

    L185F grease points

Thank you all for the replies. I had been looking at my print version of the parts list and it is not clear. The on line version is much clearer. From the descriptions you have provided and the on line parts list I understand where it is (I think). As I understand it the grease point is...

    Side Panel

I would try to go to Kubota.com, look up the illustrated parts list for the L2850 and find the side panel you are looking for. Write down the part number, then go to Messick's (parts) and look up the part number to see how much a new one would run. I was surprised by how reasonable the bonnet...

    L185F grease points

Anyone have any idea where the front pivot grease point is on the L185F? I can not seem to find where it is.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Replaced the springs on the clutch and brake pedals and the bonnet hold down springs. Now the pedals return much better! Hopefully the hood will rattle less. Replaced the steering wheel with one from Weaver's. Found out the seal from Weaver's is different than the bushing, but it appears to...

    L185F Tool box

Well I got to look at the seat closer and there is no way there was a tool box there. There is a suspension system of springs and parallel bar linkages. This is the top view of the area under the seat (seat flipped up) This is the side view of the parallel links. I guess I will have to...

    L185F Tool box

Meanjean - thanks for the offer. Yes I would like to have the dimensions if it is convienient. I am pretty sure there is some spring type suspension system on my tractor in the area that you have the tool box (my tractor is a few miles away so I can't just walk out and see). So I am not sure...

    L185F Tool box

My eyes are bad but not that bad! I have to say that the tool box is gone from my tractor. I will have to fab something up similar to the pictures if there is even a place to mount it. MeanJean - Thank you for posting the pictures

    L185F Tool box

I assume that you mean it is behind the seat base somewhere. I will look closely around the seat base with the seat folded up but I have never noticed anything like what you describe on my tractor. The tractor has been painted before I got it so perhaps it is just covered over with paint...

    L185F Tool box

I would like to see a picture of the tool box that suppoesedly was under the seat of the L185F (and other tractors of the same series). It is mentioned in the owner's manual and on several posts including this one...

    kubota L185

I picked up the ROPS for my L185F yesterday. It seems that the same model ROPS is supposed to fit the L175, L185,... L245 series. The crate that is was shipped in was huge! It would not fit in the back of my Nissan Frontier truck. I don't even think it would have fit into a standard truck...

    kubota L185

If I remember correctly the Kubota site would not find the serial number for my tractor either. There was some method to e-mail them and provide them the information on the tractor. Then Kubota e-mailed a quote for the ROPS. It showed what dealer to call and gave the costs involved. The...
