It is corn and it is doing very well. I'd say it has doubled in height over the past couple of weeks. Makes for a nice privacy screen.

I did the 1800 Hr service on the L3010 today. Included transmission (gear) oil and filter. Buckets down the bank to drain.

And cheep rattle siphon to fill via hard to access fill port.

I did till last fall and this spring placed cardboard over the whole garden and burned it off. This piece of land is going back to lawn.

When I was a kid we did that exact rotation: buckwheat for the bees and turnips as a cover crop in the cool months. Honey was the only product of the buckwheat; never harvested it; just plowed it under, disced, dragged, and seeded turnips. What do you do with the buckwheat?

I added some small plates to my loader arms to help stabilize my forks when I have them folded up. I have a CNC machine to cut stuff, so I cut these little brackets and welded them on this afternoon. The forks tended to wobble around when I drive with them folded up.

Used 16 gauge metal. The odd shaped one is to provide clearance around the loader hydraulic lines on the inside of the right hand arm.

I use it as a spring starter crop for new food plots. It grows fast, shades out weeds, and adds green manure back for my fall planting. I have a 3/4 acre buckwheat plot near my pumpkin patch I planted for the bees along with some rye grain. I'll overseed with more rye this fall. Finally there's an acre of buckwheat in an area I just reclaimed for a food plot that was filled with walnut saplings and green briar. The buckwheat will get cut, disked and planted in chicory & cereal rye around labor day. All together I have about 3.5 acres of clover plots, 1 acre is going into it's 4th year and 2.5 acres in it's second year, an acre of turnips just planted, with another acre that will be in chicory this fall. All the plots were started with spring buckwheat plantings.

We had a lot of wind with the storm around midnight. I used the loader with forks and cleared the large tree limbs, and 2 trees across the drive. The rake was still on so I used it to clear all of the small stuff.
Took about 2 hrs. We still don't have power. Wishing we had a good generator about now.

Don't buy a generator, get a welder(gas/diesel) it can be used as a generator, but more use out of the welder.

Not much to see here as it wasn't very thrilling. I'm just very happy that I checked on the condition of the "tank" lid. It was about a 1/2 thick concrete in some spots. Thankfully I didn't put the mini on it or I would've gone for a swim for sure.

Looks like someone just kept adding to the system with one final cesspool with ultra thin lid.

Not very exciting, but walked into the garage today after some yard work and saw something shiny on my front wheel. Turned out at some point the valve stem cover came off. I’ve been doing a lot of woods work so I’m thinking it happened then. Didn’t look damaged so hopefully it’s All good. Got a pack of 20 on Amazon for like 5 bucks. Figured if I lost one I’m gonna lose more so might as well stock up.

Cesspools of that vintage in this area, were built up of slightly curved blocks, and have a beehive top, with a heavy 36"+ round concrete cover.
If the top is more than a foot below ground surface they can support something such as a mini-ex , but not a loaded single axle dump, or a ten wheeler.

Some years ago I installed a 1,000 gallon precast rectangular septic tank, (for myself) with a "heavy top".
I can drive my 7,800 lb. L48 TLB over it, but I prefer to avoid doing so.

For a leach pit I have a precast pit, similar to highway catch basin pits.
