Once my 23s arrives, rubber pads are on the list to make.
Pads are made and sold by Flippad International in Hannover, MA
They are very nice, and 1/2 Messick's price.

Small post excavation cleanup. I dug this one back in June to repair the sewer line (and we broke the water line in the process).

Ground was very slow to settle and client was complaining about the mess, so... it got corrected this morning with the B2650 and the box blade while they were away for the weekend.

I picked up a new attachment for my tractor. It is plenty heavy & turns the dirt really well. My wildlife will be pleased.

Were the adjusters for the gangs added or did it come like that? May have to steal that idea for mine 😂
They were added on. It had pins originally. I’m not sure how beneficial they will be. I’m thinking I will adjust them to the angle I want & never move them again. We will see.

Moved 7 tons of crusher fines and 4 tons of round rocks today. The MX easily handled a full bucket of crusher fines and lifted over a 5 foot fence to dump without feeling unstable.

I got my PD25 last year and it dug holes very well but it was like others mentioned the most hated implement to hook up until I built this stand to fasten the landpride stand/PHD last summer. It sat that way until this morning. Hook up was smooth as silk took less than a minute.

Cleaned the gutters for the shed and shop. Used the BX as a elevated wheel barrow to toss the muck in. Nice to have the bucket right below you as you remove never ending pine needles and pine cones. Keeps the ground a little cleaner and easier than lugging a 5 gallon bucket. Dumped the whole mess back in the woods.

Made another big pile of tops a small pile of future mulch thanks to my PTO driven chipper. View attachment 109123
Gonna make a suggestion, but just remember advice is worth exactly what you pay for it. Segregate hardwoods and evergreens when you chip, especially if you plan to use it for mulch/compost. Hardwood will rot a lot quicker and makes a much better compost than it does ground cover. The evergreen (cedar/pine/cypress) is aromatic because of the turpentine in the resins, and will make earthworms and beneficial insects find somewhere else to be, thus slowing down composting, as well as losing the benefit of the aeration the critters do. NEVER use any chips you make for mulch near your house. Commercial mulch is treated for termites. If you put untreated chips in your flower beds, you just created a buffet for termites. Spraying the pile of chips after you finish won't do properly treat them. Every chip has to be coated. Then, again, you don't want to use too much of that for mulch either. It will kill beneficial insects and the earthworms as well. A lot of plants don't like that spray either. We wiped out a LOT of expensive plants one year because of my persistence about using it for ground cover. Now, I just buy cypress blended mulch for beds close to the house, and use the compost/mulch from the chipper on beds at least 50 feet away. I leave the treating to those that have better equipment and know-how.

Keeping a hose handy and spraying the sand/grit off the brush before you feed it to the chipper will make the knives last longer and help keep some of the dust down. Some barks soak up the water very quickly and aren't quite as stringy with a little moisture added. Birch and elm come to mind, and I've had several blockages attributed to stringy bark. I also have a small 6 HP shredder that I use for the stuff that breaks off as I feed the chipper. It has hammer flails, so nothing to dull, and I still get rid of ALL of the trash from deadfall.

Big dig this am...

H4-BYR517-2.JPG

took about 15 mins...no shoring needed. 😆 I felt like I was riding a mechanical bull or one of those 25 cent rides that we used to see outside the grocery store (do they even have those any more?).

You burying the down spout?
Sump line relocation and tying in the rain leader as well. 4" pipe is daylighted further down the run. I didn't get a final pic when I left the scene.
