I pulled some gravel off the sides of the driveway to the center and smoothed it all out. I only used the FEL.

I got my LX2610 yesterday and today I received the plug in block heater. Simple job except I tightened it to well over 100 ft. lbs. before it stopped leaking.

i also checked all fluid levels, greased the zerks and sprayed the undercarriage down with Wool Wax.

My grapple quest continues.

Been dealing with this wet snow for a few days as it never seems to stop. Snow really sticks inside the bucket so you have to stop a lot to clear it. IT sure is nice when it is a least 20 out as everything is dry then. Notice since I upped the rpm per advice here, fuel consumption goes up quite a bit. All I am doing is pushing and lifting snow around so I try to keep the rpm around 1600. I know some say keep it around 2000 but I bet they are using the pto or plows etc. IT just seems over running the engine at 2000 for no good reason. Maybe it's just me.

Now to install all the MMM stuff and fix the 3 point linkage and fix the large dent in the hood that sticks out like a sore thumb.

like the looks of this tractor. Real tractor look and no nosense.

By God, what is Wool Wax?

It’s a lanolin based spray on corrosion inhibitor. Like a waxy oil. It doesn’t wash off easily and will keep corrosion at bay. Not a big deal but I had some extra after doing my truck for the winter.

Ran the WC46 chipper again yesterday. Plugged both the discharge chute and hydraulic feed roller. Wife cut off all the small stuff with green leaves that was plugging the chute. Will bush hog those. Did it the day before, too. Only had ever plugged the chute one time before this.

For the roller, I used a low rise "racing" floor jack to go underneath the bar over the top of the roller mechanism. Raised the roller and pulled out the stuck piece. Jack came out easily when lowered. Still enough room to get it out.

Run the WC46 at 2300-2400 rpm for about 450 rpm on the rear PTO where I ran it on the last 2 JDs. Don't need the hp. They just loaf along.

Had an arborist top and drop a dead tree behind the house and then did several myself. I’m still a rank amateur when it comes to felling but live trees don’t bother me too too much. One ash was the biggest thing I’ve cut to date. I probably won’t cut anything that large again anytime soon. I limbed everything up and then waiting for some weather to roll through, 50 degree temps and rain, which then froze this morning. It did however melt enough snow off that I could get the tractor behind the house to clean a lot of the branches and logs up. Brush went in a pile off the driveway that will get relocated in the spring, and logs went in a pile behind the wood shed for bucking and splitting in the spring. Now hopefully I won’t have to mount the star link dish that arrived Wednesday on the peak of the roof.

Well, the mini-mini DID have a Kubota engine...and the little bugger could dig. It seemed to be faster to backfill with a shovel though.

Did an hour's worth of chipping of a pile, mostly red cedar, beside the compost pile.

No stoppages this time. All that small red cedar greenery got fed in by the hydraulic roller.

Set out early to plow - what a mess. Top layer of frost is gone + rain = STAY OFF GRASS! This is the weather that really makes me wish I had a blower.

Well today worked on removing water from barn from last nights rainstorm that filled my barn with 8" of water when the culvert frozen and plugged backed up durring the night. Got barn cleaned and bedded with happy beefers inside. Got tire chains fixed on the kubota. Had one that broke a link, and other loosened up to much and was getting cockeyed. Also feed 2 more round bales, fixed and filled my pipeline trailer for working in sugar bush tomorrow. Used kubota to move it around too. And filled full of fuel greased it. And gotta g get a new battery for it in the morning.

Did the 50hour service on the BX. I went ahead with the revised service interval in the newest manual and changed the HST fluid and cleaned the screen. Pleasantly surprised w/ how clean the screen actually was -- just 2 flecks of grey sealant was about all there was. I'd seen some pictures of the screen being nearly completely covered in errant sealant bits.

In other news, I'm actually shocked that I put 50 hours on in ~9 months. My biggest worry was it'd become a garage queen with hardly any real usage. From spreading ag lime, to post hole digging, to clearing snow, I'm only kicking myself for not jumping in sooner.

I had no idea you could use one of these spreaders for ag lime. Everyone here says you cant because ag lime will clump up in that type spreader. Whats the secret?

There is no problem using that type of spreader for lime powder or pelletized lime, however, you have to do it on a day that there is no wind or even a hint of a breeze. I spread lime using a drop spreader, and it is less likely to blow around. I had a hopper type of spreader, but the fertilizer and lime got under the powder coating, and it rusted in just a few years to the point that it fell apart. Now, I use the drop spreader that has paint on it, not powder coating, and then hose it out after each use. Unfortunately, today almost everything is powder coated because it is perceived as being a better coating to paint. I don't agree!

I installed a hydraulic top link for my Landpride box blade/scraper

I would have liked to order one from the recommended hydraulics guy, but with the lead time - I ordered this one on Sunday, and received it on Thursday - complete kit with all the fittings and adapters. I just had to pick out the right length.
