What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I mowed for the first time today with the BX2380 - I'm not sure it was any faster, nor did it seem to do a better job than my Ryobi riding mower (https://www.ryobitools.com/products/details/46396017758). It was also a lot more prep, remove the FEL, put the ROPS up, change from 2 to 4 wheel drive, etc... am I doing it wrong?

I feel the advantage of the larger machine will show itself when the grass is very long or very wet since I have a PTO driven grass catcher, versus a blade fed one on the little Ryobi, but I feel there must be an advantage in using a 60" mower on an acre, but as of now, I don't see it.

If a 60" mower will not mow the same grass a 38" mower is mowing at a faster rate you need to get it out of idle.

also, when the tech cut the old galvanized water service, the homeowners/ power went out...WTF? Power was overhead so what just happened. Then it dawned on me that we basically cut the house ground and he must have an open neutral somewhere. His power was "restored" when we bonded the ground to the new copper water service line...yikes man.

Aren't you required to report that to the power Co.?

I became the neutral once when replacing a water meter in a basement. It knocked me out a blew me across the basement. My helper thought I was dead. He did not come back to work the next day. My hands were numb for several days after that.

I got some seat time today after 2+ weeks. I split an old ash tree and used the bucket to carry it to the wood shed. 4 trips. After that I put the new to me rock rake on and proceeded to rake the yard of tree limbs and leaves. Saved me days worth of work in less than an hour. Then I went down to the food plot I have been clearing and used the rake to clean up limbs and knock off a few high to low spots from digging stumps with the BH77. Then I started pushing some dirt for the small pond I will be making. I will switch to the BH tomorrow so I can dig a few more stumps next week. I learned the rake is not a very good counter weight for a full bucket in the loader.

My part of New England would love to send all of the Southern New Englanders somewhere else as they are the most rude and awful drivers in New England.

Yesterday was a quick trip to the Kubota dealer to drop off my K Connect since they have my blower and they are marveling at the coupler wear in just 35hrs of use.......but that is a saga that seems to be too common for a $7-8K blower setup.

To take my mind off it I cleaned the air filter on the old Husqvarna 50 chainsaw and did some additional clean up with the tractor and trailer.........sure is nice to have an expensive mobile wheelbarrow.....

Sounds about right. My tractor with a 60 inch cutter is slower, but much safer than my rider on the hills.
BTW: wet grass, hills, and tractors is not a good combination.

I find hooks on a bucket to be indispensable.

I use mine probably more than I do the bucket itself (for scooping or digging). By adding attachment points for chain(s) you add so much more utility to the bucket and tractor IMO.

Naturally....some cautions apply, but the judicious use of your newly equipped bucket won't harm it (or you) at all.

Remove FEL - Okay.
ROPS up - Why is that any different from 'normal'?
2wd to 4wd - Why? Are you mowing a steep area where 2wd isn't enough? Your Ryobi is surely only 2wd.
What RPM are you running? Should be at least 3000.

2wd to 4wd - Why? Are you mowing a steep area where 2wd isn't enough? Your Ryobi is surely only 2wd.
What RPM are you running? Should be at least 3000.

ROPS up is just extra time - the Ryobi does not have that to consider.
4wd on the hills, as I had the tractor run on me the one time I used 2wd to move dirt - maybe overly cautious? I also don't want to tear up the yard, and turn in 4wd does just that.
I was running at 2,500 RPM in rabbit mode.

I think it also comes down to the type of yard I have, lots of mulch beds and has loads of angles - where the little rider is just more nimble, and can run at it's top speed (6-7 mph) and handles hills like a champ - all the weight is over the rear axle (big battery in there, directly over that axle), and it doesn't have an engine to come up to speed to use, just press the pedal and go.

After hauling the electric snow bike 100 yards to what snow is left (a lot, up high) I made one last ride. All winter I was riding right out my shop's door. Then I started busting up a big compacted drift that is still (an epic winter here, way above average snowfall totals) blocking access to my outbuilding where I keep my implements. I don't need access to them (having the blade and snow

thrower already mounted up) all winter so I don't bother keeping it clear all winter, I have enough snow removal to do as it is 70 today, it seemed weird to be on the tractor moving snow, in just a short sleeved shirt! shirt.

Nice.....admittedly I have also used the tractor to move the One-Up rack......but they are great bike racks.....
