What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I have been noticing more and more Kubota replacement parts have been coming from China.... So after the warranty is up, order the cheap clone filter(s) and cut one open and compare it to of the used "Kubota" ones.

Yeah, it's the way of things these days, but here's hopin' some good ol' Murican parts will start showing up over the next 4 years. I kinda figured they were Chinesium parts, to fit a Japanese tractor, assembled and sold in the USA. I'd say our tractors are quite culturally diverse.

Straight trans fluid...wait, that sounds weird.

Undiluted transmission fluid is what I used last.

I used to apply old engine oil and cut that with diesel. However, that does leave the trailer deck a bit sticky/dirty. The trans fluid is a much better option.

I'm doing the 50/50 Diesel/used oil mix. It's a trailer, not a show car. Got the first coat on before screwing the boards down, and will be putting a second coat on after I get it finished. Probably be slicker than greased monkey snot on a boiled egg when it's wet, but I'm not typically using an open trailer when it's raining, either. Rain means too wet to tractor and too wet to build. Snowing means the global warming theorists were LYING in Alabama. Now that I've put that in print, I'll probably get arrested because a greenie will call the EPA on me. If you only knew my luck......

You can always toss a little sand on it while it's still wet. Makes pretty good anti-skid...

What year model is your SU? Mine's a 2019. Can't say I've ever left the switch on, so I wouldn't notice the problem.

I just got it this year off the dealership floor. Not sure what the manufactur date is?

If you bought it outright, you can request the selling dealer to get you a Certificate of Origin. That is a birth certificate for a tractor.

We got about 8" of the white stuff overnight Tuesday into Wednesday, spent some time clearing the driveway yesterday afternoon. It went a lot better this storm with the skid shoes on the bucket and using the rear blade before it had been run over a hundred times. We don't typically get a lot of accumulating snow in our area, but we've gotten two storms over 6" in the past month, and it's stayed cold so it hangs around. Thinking about a front blade to just have. We don't plan on moving anywhere for the next 18ish years until I can retire anyway.

I will warn you when you have a leak like that it does not pull fluid from the reservoir back to the radiator.
So let it cool completely then open the radiator cap and check radiator fluid level directly.

Thanks for pointing that out, I tried to check it this morning but I couldn't get the cap off. I tried and tried and ended up cutting my finger open. I might have to buy a new radiator cap in case I break this one trying to get it off.

Yes, I know how to remove them. Just unsure why this one doesn't want to come off. I'll try again later with gloves on this time.

Only take the cap off when cold.

Try pushing down on the cap a little when turning.

Shouldn't be hard to take it off.

Are you turning in the correct direction? Should be lefty loosey-righty tighty....

Shoot a little lube up under the cap where the lugs are.
Silicone spray, WD-40, or similar

If that doesn't work, pour boiling hot water on the cap and try it again.

Tap it with a leather mallet around the edges at a 45° angle and it'll pop right off.

Quite a bit of snow to remove this morning before taking my dog to the vet. We had 3" or more overnight and it was snowing as I was blowing, and it's snowed a bunch more since getting home so no doubt I'll be back out this afternoon or this evening.
