Not too much to report. Been priming one night and sanding the next  hood and fenders have two coats of primer. Probably gonna need at least three coats to fill in the impefections. Whomever took the heavy wire wheel to the hood needs to be beat  top of the hood and sides had some pretty good scoring.

Tomorrows project is to get the frame washed and scrubbed really well. Get the garage cleaned out  and get the rest of the tractor inside.

Here's some nude picks

Did start in on fabbing up the new bumper/ counter weight. Before the top gets welded onto the bumper, it's gonna get filled with beach sand. So far, I've made the piece that bolts to the tractor. Gotta get by the metal shop Monday to pick up some flat stock.

Start painting tomorrow :D

Gotta finish masking off some areas. Hit some spots on the frame with primer. Primer sets up in a half hour. After that, I can cover the frame and shoot the orange. Then Sunday I'll mask off the dash and shoot the blue :D

THAT LASER IS COOL!!!!

You are blind by the time you are done, or have respiratory issues from the vaporized paint but, its all for a good cause! I am sure harbor Freight will have one for $399 in a year including cheap sunglasses that look remarkably like ...cheap Chinese sunglasses!

Good work Daren. Keep it up.

:)

I wouldn't recommend the Sherwin Williams paint

Color came out looking good. But before reducing per instructions, that is some really thin stuff.

I'm sure it's a good quality paint system. But dang, that stuff is finicky. Hard to get good coverage. And runs really bad. Gonna have to let it cure. Get another pint of paint. And sand one fender down and start over. The rest is passable. But definitely not happy with it

Here's so pics. I'm done writing a new dictionary on cuss words  Fixing to get an adult beverage or two, maybe three :D

Here's how it came out.

Hoods good, dash is good, rims are good, plus the side panels. One fender came out nice.

Then you have the fender that got me cussing

Gotta sand down the grill for the hood and redo that as well.

Looking good, I too had some issues, I am using the Kubota Orange and
I feel (following their directions) it is a bit thin, had to be so so careful.

If this is a race to the finish you are ahead,
I just removed the old decals from my hood today.

I think I got the paint issue figured out. For one, I was off on the mixture  Had enough hardener, but not enough reducer. The other issue was to large of a tip. So I'll really pay attention tomorrow when I shoot the blue. Then once the paint sets up on the fender, I'll sand it smooth, and shoot it again later in the week :D That's after picking up a finer tip

Orange parts are all orange :D And......... The blue is on the rest :D

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1458864787.724766.jpg

Hodges stabilizers came in. Requested the primer only so I could paint to match.

Mark did a fantastic job making them. Hated to scuff up the smooth primer job. But they got painted as well :D

He had great timing too, since they were sitting on my door step tonight :D

Here's the booger'd up fender after fixing :D

She's orange and blue :D and looking like a tractor again :D:D still got some odds and ends. Paint the handle black. And mount the hazard lights. Make up some wing nut bolts for the side shields. And mount the head lights.

First time a bird uses it for target practice I'll be in the back yard hunting tweety

Daren, that looks nice, but I'm telling you tweety likes orange. You better come up with some sheltered area to park her!!!
