Speak8,

I feel for you man! I have the spout still floating around in my tank. I spent an hour fishing around with various tools trying to snatch it but, no luck.

That tank is a bugger to get out. You either have to pull the instrument bezel and the surround, or take out the motor... not sure which. Not Kubota's fault!

I am going to fill it up to the filler neck and the drive it around on rough terrain and see if the filler neck will float up enough so I can grab it. The tank is so convoluted toward the bottom it makes it almost impossible to reach with tools readily available.

Take a hint from both of us -DON'T GO NEAR YOUR TANK WITH ANYTHING THAT COULD COME LOOSE! ITS A LOOOONG WAY DOWN!!! :)

My B8200 has a removable factory strainer setting directly under the fuel cap. Tanks probably haven't changed much. Maybe that strainer would fit you tank and save frustration.

Came across these fuel cans at a Fair Friday.
If you order 2 cans shipping is free. (orders of $50 or more are free but 2 cans = free shipping)

Yellow cans are out of stock from the factory. Other places have YELLOW in stock but are more money.

I went through the same issue with my tractor. Fueling it did suck. I tried to think of all sorts of ways to do it easier.

Best thing I did was buy a 55gal surplus drum and a 12volt transfer pump kit. Done deal. Fueling is now as easy as being at the gas station.

Sounds good, but how do you fill the drum?
Loading, hauling, & unloading an empty & then full drum doesn't sound like fun, and having to fill it from (11) 5gal cans doesn't sound much better.

Well, initially I'd load it in the back of my truck with the FEL and drove down to southern states to fill it. Then unload same way. I have chain hooks on my bucket, so a motorcycle tie-down strap (or chain) held the drum in the bucket fine.

Eventually I made a mount to put the drum on a surplus military trailer chassis I have and that turned into my "fuel trailer". Now I just tow it down town to fill the drum.

Just found a funnel at Walmart with a float in it. As you approach full tank it closes off the funnel. Wish it also had a water Micromesh screen in it too. will report back on how well it works.

Well drat....... it's a good idea in theory but not a large enough scale for our purposes. The thing does not hold enough fuel so it fills from the Jerry can faster than it drains from the funnel. So gave up and made mess pouring straight from Jerry can. Will search in near future for same thing with larger capacity.

Isn't it amazing how something as simple as fueling a vehicle has a ton of different options? Just goes to show how we all like the mousetrap that fits our style... :D

Sheepfarmer, I like your idea, but I'd need 6 cans to fill my tank. :D

One thing I don't care for is the high fill point on my M5140 and there's nothing to lean a fuel can on while fueling.
I would like another can...:D but 3 gal seems to fill it up for a couple weeks except if mowing, it is remarkably fuel efficient. I did buy the 3560 because of its fuel fill pipe that can be reached from the ground. Funny reason to choose a particular tractor, but it has worked out well.

i use nato style steel cans, have a nice filling toy, found it on ebay,
a little handpump that pumps air into the can and puches the diesel out, filling my B2620 is easy without lifting the can.

I've been using around 1 gal per hr which surprised me for a tractor of this size. Kubota's seem to be very efficient fuel sippers. Is your fill pipe in the back....near the back of the seat?
