Tornado, I copied and pasted the picture you posted of the label on the mask box. I was asked what was the brand, seller, etc. Can you give me a name? Thanks.
AND then there's things like this:
Concerns arise as some receive positive COVID-19 results but never got tested
2 days ago
SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Coronavirus continues to spread quickly across the state. Plus, now, on the Suncoast, although testing has been made more available, many say there are some problems in really getting a handle on how much the virus is in our community.© Provided by WWSB Tampa Concerns Over COVID-19 Test Results
It has nothing to do with being able to get tested, but instead the results. The quickest turnaround is about 48 hours, and the majority of the time, it can take about a week of finding out if you’re infected our not. However, the most recent issue is getting back results that aren’t even yours.
“I got a call asking for me, and they told me that I had tested positive. I was like, ‘Positive for what?” Then, the lady said for COVID, and I said, ‘That’s impossible. I never got tested, Ma’am,’” Mindy Clark said.
Clark had gone to the drive thru testing sight at Manatee Rural Health, but before she was able to get swabbed, she left the line because she realized it was for people with symptoms only.
“I told them they needed to take this off my record, and they said I had to prove it to them that I wasn’t positive,” Clark continued.
She tested negative just two days later, and also tested negative for the antibodies. Plus, according to many of our viewers, this hasn’t only happened to her.
Clark says if she and many others have been incorrectly identified as positive in the state’s system so easily, how accurate are the numbers that are released daily?
I think that it might be a disclaimer put up there by all the companies that are selling masks. I have bought 2 kinds of kn95 masks. One was on a list of approved manufacturers. The other was not and said not medical grade, not etc etc. There are a lot of counterfeit masks out there. A lot of Chinese imports. If anyone knows of some reliable US or Canadian sources please post. A friend got some from Canada, I’ll try to find.Tornado, I copied and pasted the picture you posted of the label on the mask box. Lowes and hardware stores sale N95 masks (if they arent fully sold out in this crisis) You can usually find them around the paint areas. You may already be aware of this but several people never thought about hardware stores for a N95 mask, but they do sell them. At my work - which is a government office - we were given N95 masks by the state department of health. They are chinese masks and have english and chinese on the front of the bag. We only wear them when helping the public or going outside of our office into the rest of the building. My wife brought us home some good masks though. They arent N95, but are a new kind of mask that are supposed to be better than N95. They are mask that has a microbial coating in the fabric and they are reported to kill viruses and bacteria on contact with the mask. My wifes company ordered a ton of these masks from the company who developed them (patend pending) and gave the nurses 2 masks each. My wife then ordered some additional. The bad thing is that as the covid 19 thing progressed, new mandates came out that mandated N95 mask usage in all patient care areas, so not long after investing in and beginning use of these new masks, the nurses were told to stop using them and go back to N95. Turned out to be a wasted investment. The microbial masks are potentially better than the N95 though, but they arent N95 so dont meet the regulations, so they had to ditch them just to be compliant.I think that it might be a disclaimer put up there by all the companies that are selling masks. Sounds like standard Bureaucratic mumbo jumbo. DON'T wear a mask that's likely better protection, cause we bought stock in the company that makes N95; or something like that.Lowes and hardware stores sale N95 masks (if they arent fully sold out in this crisis) You can usually find them around the paint areas. My wife has vacation time banked up, so if she got infected, she would just burn through that. It would be more then she would get under workmans comp anyway. But I think it depends on the state. We got a packet in the mail yesterday addressed to my wife. I asked her what it was. I wasn't aware but apparently once you test positive the company is automatically filling out the workman's comp paperwork and mailing it to the employee so they can file it. Its a nice courtesy I suppose. My wife said though that she has several colleagues who filed the paperwork and all of them had been denied. She says they were denied because "they couldn't prove they actually got sick at work". My wife only knows a handful who actually filed the papers and got the denial so it may be different for others. We don't intend to even file the papers. She will miss 2 weeks of work, which will be a loss of a good chunk of money at her salary, but, thankfully, we are blessed. We aren't hurting to pay bills or anything. I've always been a super strong advocate of saving and putting back, so we are in good shape there. She will get to log a few hours that she has worked from home on her laptop. She will just go back to work and we will go forward. Its not worth it in our case to even deal with the headache of filing papers and dealing with it all. We are of the mind if we don't need help, we don't ask for help, so we will leave that for those who are really struggling right now.
Well my wife could have used vacation hours and still been paid, but we don't want to waste those hours on covid just for her to sit at the house in quarantine. We will use vacation, or as they call it "PTO time" (Paid Time Off) for something more exciting, or something that we need to do. I hate burning vacation hours just to sit home, unless Its for a project or something I need to get done around the house. You never know when you may want/need those vacation hours to go somewhere or go take care of some business somewhere, or, to actually take an actual vacation lol.My wife has vacation time banked up, so if she got infected, she would just burn through that. Per the governor of Arkansas, they streamlined the process for medical workers that are on the front lines dealing with covid patients to qualify for workmans comp if they become infected if needed.
Some employers decided to go with other options while there employee is out recovering from the virus.
My employer will cover an employees pay for 8 weeks of they are infected, or had to shut a location down. 2 weeks is employee accrued vacation plus sick time. The rest is paid by the company.
They opened pandora's box when they said an employee needed to use all accrued vacation and sick time first. So they decided they had to go back to the drawing board and came up with the above parameters instead to keep things fair. Some of use long time employees would have lost out, and new employees would have made out like a bandit since they only accrue a weeks vacation and a weeks sick time. They would have had 6 bonus weeks of paid time off.
I rolled a weeks vacation over this year so added to my normal 4 weeks vacation plus a weeks sick time, that left me with 5 weeks vacation, plus a week of sick leave. I would have lost 4 weeks vacation before the bonus pay kicked in.
After 8 weeks they negotiated with our insurance company to allow an employee to use their short term disability insurance if they are sick or still recovering. But each case is evaluated by the HR department and depending on circumstances.
My niece and daughter in law were bringing in more on unemployment then they were getting in a normal work week.Didn't the Fed government kick in $600 a week in addition to state unemployment? I know a guy who called his work, and when they apologized for not getting him back to work (this was a few weeks ago) that they were calling back a couple each week. He said don't worry call me in last. He said he's making within a few dollars of what he would be in putting in a 40 hr week. A foolish move.
Bottom line is.. Life is extremely cheap in China, even more so than N. Korea. In both countries, humans are a disposable item, to be used, exploited and discarded like so much garbage. This whole virus situation is amazing.
Is Covid 19 a weapon or something that was designed in Wuhan and escaped due to negligence?
We will probable never know for certain.
I find it extremely unusual the Chinese government reported at one time the lab it originated in Wuhan.
Early on they didn't encourage masks so they could be saved for Dr.'s.
Life means nothing to the Red Chinese.
Think about this China is the worlds largest exporter.
Who was messing with their playhouse?
Why did the mom and pop stores wind up being unessential while the big box stores that receive most of their goods from China stay essential?
Why is one of our major political parties pushing the pandemic and destruction of our economy so hard?
Why are they supporting rioting and looting?
Has this moved pass coincidence?

We have experienced the same thing. When the shutdowns first happened Ford came out with a “deal” for no payments for 3 months and they would “make” three payments, so essentially you buy a new car and don’t have to start paying on it for 6 months. New inventory is getting hard to find (getting better since the plants opened back up) but our used inventory is crazy low. We are reconditioning a lot of used stuff that would typically get wholesaled just so they have used cars on the lot.We stopped at a Chevy dealership that (according to their website) had at least one 2021 Tahoe so we could see what they look like. The salesman said they had a couple but couldn't keep them on the lot. As soon as they arrived, they went out the door. He told us the past couple months have been incredibly good for them. My boss is friends with a used car dealer who told him that he's certain the unemployment plus the $600 Covid checks were helping him sell way more than the normal number of vehicles.
Maybe when the checks stop, people will curtail some of that activity.
