    best "cheapest" parts store?

When it comes to tractors, no such thing. That's just how it is. Welcome to the forum! While tractor parts are expensive, the experience and advice here is of high value, and free if you ask nicely.

Public Service Announcement: don't set the wood's on fire please.

As my mom would say, it's drier than a popcorn fart. It isn't a good time to burn brush, here in the Shenandoah Valley of VA. On a side note- a friend of mine was burning a brush pile at our church, about 200 feet away from a steep ridge. He used cardboard boxes and waste oil to start the fire...

Dinner and a 20 ton press....

My grandkids love my welding shop. It's a great place for them to explore and learn, ask questions, and get exposure and experience that school can't supply- especially in the envelope of family love and support.

    Block vs Oil Pan Heater

Heating the oil pan has virture- it allows the engine to spin more freely because the oil isn't as thick (effectiveness depending on what oil you're running) . It's an additional measure, but heating the block is the primary goal. A warmed block means that combustion will happen more easily...

    Pins - Arrrgh

This past week, a friend helped me remove the main stabilizer pins on my JD 310 backhoe. They had been in there for 50 years. A LOT of heat and a 20 lb sledge did the job.

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

I predict that these stabilizers will not coincide with (at least some) Landpride implements. Some of them have very large link pin mounts, which come very close to the lift arm ears. Those stabilizers will interfere with some implements- if you consider buying these stabilizers, check that your...

    Telescopic sway bar

The L8430 is about as wide as the buckle on a factory turnbuckle. If your old turnbuckles didn't interfere with the tires, telescoping stabilizers should work fine. A lot of the older L series tractors have rear tires that get real close to the lift arms.

    Kubota B8200 3 point issues

Wow. I'm a visual person, and if I were in the same boat as the OP, I'd be VERY grateful for your post. It is fantastically helpful.

    Finally ….bridge over my stream

We live beside a creek. Been here for 27 years, and it's been in the family since the early 80's. In that time, there have been 2 times that water has taken out our bridge. The current one survived 21 1/2" of rain from a tropical storm/hurricane Isabel. It's been a learning curve. Generalizing...

Took Possession of My New Tractor

Chasing a rabbit, what instances are owners encountering where the additional lighting is needed? For our uses/circumstances (my father and myself), owning 2 tractors, a backhoe, and a skid steer, we haven't needed anything more than the factory lights. Other than safety/attention on the road, I...

    Backhoe Owners poll.......

If this counts, then yes! 1972 John Deere 310, 3,330 hours. I've since removed the cab and installed an original canopy. Owning a backhoe has been a dream since childhood, and this tops the cake. Less money than a loader and backhoe for my 790, and much more power.

Multi-Metal Rust Risk? Should I just weld this sucker?

Dissimilar metals will react and corrode whether painted or not. However, that's between, for instance, steel and aluminum. I don't see any issues with the materials that you're using.

L3800 HST PTO engages but with no real power

Short of exploring the PTO shaft on the mower, you could install another PTO driven implement and see if it functions under load. That would isolate which piece of equipment owns the problem.

    B26TLB three point hookup hardware

The parts will sell quickly. Almost weekly, someone joins here looking for 3 point hitch parts. You could hold onto them until they sell here, you could reach out to the guy who bought your tractor and see if he's seen the error of his decision, or you could post them on a Facebook group or Ebay.

B7100 - broke both sway linkages

It may be true. I also had a B7100, but mine was a newer tractor- the stabilizers attached at a common pivot plate underneath the PTO shaft. So, there may be some geometry differences. Anyway, I found that if I adjusted my turnbuckles to the point that there was just a little bit of sway when...

2005 BX23 with 100 hours, Loader and Backhoe, $12K, Is this a good deal? Stored indoors, clean

Very good price, if it's legitimate and as described. Can you go look at it in person? There are so many scams out there these days, you should verify before proceeding.

    B6200 Check Chain

I don't think that it is original. The lift arms have been changed- the factory arms are straight, and they should have tabs welded on them, closer to the ends, where the turnbuckle stabilizers would attach. You could relocate the side link to the holes used by the turnbuckles, and use the holes...
