I recently bought a Kubota B8200E tractor ( no mower deck or loader). I can’t get the 3 point to lift consistently. I have changed the Transhydraulic fluid, cleaned the filter screen, replaced all o rings on the lines and rebuilt the 3 point piston under the seat. The 3 point still won’t lift consistently and when it does lift, it is erratic and very slow.

Check pump flow and pressure.

Dan
I would consider myself fairly knowledgeable when it comes to mechanical repairs but I’m new to hydraulics.
What do I need to check the flow and pressure and where do I connect it to the tractor?

Your tractor has a hydraulic outlet block on the right side of the engine.

First thing to check is the directional valve - it should be turned fully counter-clockwise. If it is not turn it counter-clockwise and check 3pt operation again.

If it is turned clockwise and your 3pt is still not working remove plug A and connect a hose to that port The port is 3/8 BSPP so you will need a suitable adapter. Stick the other end of the hose in the transmission filler, turn the directional valve fully clockwise and start the tractor. You should get a steady stream of oil out of the hose. If no oil flow or its intermittent you have found your problem. Either pump is bad or oil supply to the pump is obstructed.

If good steady flow connect a3000 PSI hydraulic pressure gauge to the hose and start the tractor. You should see close to 2000 PSI on the gauge. If pressure is significantly lower the pump is suspect.

Wow. I'm a visual person, and if I were in the same boat as the OP, I'd be VERY grateful for your post. It is fantastically helpful.

Thank you Dan but my tractor is different than most that I see referenced to on the internet. I don’t have the outlet block on the right side of the engine. The hydraulic lines run from the hydraulic pump to a block on the side of the 3 point lift assembly where the lift lever is attached and back to the pump.

He swings and he misses!

Are you sure this is a B8200? I am not an authority but I thought the outlet block was universal on all Bx200 models.

In any event I would still test pump output. It's a little harder without the outlet block. Purchase a JIC banjo fitting and a length of hose to tap into the pump output port.

Disconnect the pipe on the outlet port and replace it with the banjo. For the flow test you can use a piece of clear vinyl tube slipped over the end of the banjo. Probably want to use a hose clamp to make sure it does not get blown off. Put the other end in the transmission filler and start the tractor. Should be getting a good steady flow of hydraulic oil.

Pressure testing is more complicated. The outlet block contains a pressure relief valve and without it we can't just hook a pressure gauge to the banjo. That would deadhead the pump and damage it. I can show you how to connect a gauge but if you are getting good flow odds are the pump is making enough pressure to operate an unloaded 3pt. Does the 3pt work without anything on it?

The plate on the side of the engine says B8200E (photo attached). I will certainly try what you suggested.
the 3 point doesn’t go up all the time and when it does it is very slow and jerky. I did attach a grading blade (6ft) on it when I first purchased it and the 3 point didn’t want to go up and when it did, it struggled.
That’s when I decided to change out the fluid and clean the filter.
I may just take it into the Kubota dealership and have them look at it.
I will post the outcome either way.

update: I took the tractor into the Kubota dealer and they changed out the fluid and put in a new filter screen. $500 later and the 3 point works like it should.
