    MX5400 or MX6000?

I don't disagree with you. But just because the MX is smaller / lighter, doesn't make it a "homeowner" machine; it is built just as well as any other Kubota tractor. Obviously you wouldn't need to make an MX tractor with a 100HP engine given its size and weight, nor would you make an MX...

    MX5400 or MX6000?

Keadog, the R1 tires offer the best grip but they are actually not as stiff a tire as the R4 and presumably the R14, nor are they as wide. I had an MX4800 (non turbo) open station with the R1 tires, and while it was 'stable enough' with the rear rims set out to their widest position, the R4...

How crazy are you about topping off your tank?

That's great you haven't had a problem, but the evidence is that people are having problems. How many Ford, GM, or even RAM Bosch CP4.2 high pressure fuel pumps blew up and ruined the entire fuel system on diesel trucks? Tons, to the point that GM quit using that pump after 6 model years, RAM...

    Hydraulic top link for MX6000

I ended up buying the generic top link from AgriStore, specifically the one MtnViewRanch said would be the closest. It arrived very quickly; I bought it with the hoses with the ball fittings and a couple of adapters. Spent probably one hour last night grinding down the tractor-side ball ends and...

    LX3310 HST Whine

Grand L 60 series Kubota tractors have the quietest HST probably offered anywhere. The standard L and smaller tractors have noisy HST whine. My MX6000 cab doesn't seem bad. The higher ranges will amplify it, because there is more hydraulic pressure needed to move the machine. Don't use high...

    Hydraulic top link for MX6000

Thanks MtnViewRanch. They look very nice; I haven't decided what to do at this point.

    Hydraulic top link for MX6000

Never heard of PA, but I see it is in Canada. Seems like for a little more money, the option MtnViewRanch mentioned is superior with a longer stroke and large rod diameter. My concern is simply whether the tractor-end of the ball would fit.

    Hydraulic top link for MX6000

Poor planning on my part I guess. I see you're the guy that build these things custom that everybody recommends; I'm curious what would be different on yours to make it better? Would yours have a tractor-side ball end that fits my Kubota better? And maybe a longer stroke (I think I read yours...

    Hydraulic top link for MX6000

This is what I found “off the shelf.” My concern is the link has massive travel, but cannot get short enough. https://www.agristoreusa.com/collections/category-1-hydraulic-top-links/products/category-1-2-hydraulic-top-link-25-9-16-39-15-16

    Hydraulic top link for MX6000

Hi folks, looking to get a quality but inexpensive hydraulic top link for my MX6000 tractor. I don't care about tilt just the top link. Already have the remotes. I understand the MX is a Cat 1/2 hitch. Doing some quick research, it appears there are 2.5" cylinders and 3" cylinders, and most of...

    Stumps I hate them.

Stumps around here are something like $5-8 per inch at the ground for grinding. I did a job early this spring for two 50' spruce trees with 24" stump bases. Rented the Home Depot grinder, it was an Italian machine with a big Briggs V-Twin maybe 30HP. It had hydraulic swing and raise-lower of the...

Kubota Grand L 60 series LED work light bulbs?

The L4060 is gone and a new MX6000 is in its place, since spring, with a cab. Now the process of upgrading the lights begins again. The MX cab uses the same four work lights as the Grand L 60 series. The headlights on the MX are weaker (35/35 instead of 55/60). I ended up adding a couple of...

    New tractor!

What do you lose on an open-station L3560 LE over the non LE edition? I know on the cab versions you lose the front work lights, maybe a 12v outlet, the mirrors, maybe the cruise control? Seems like on the open station you would only lose the cruise? I'd strongly recommend you making the dealer...

What About Your Tractor Makes You Swear?

The lack of a 4x4 indicator on the dash letting you know the front axle is engaged.

    Hitch Ball Mount

Lot of guys drill a hole and install a ball into their bucket, as they can still fully use the bucket but also easily get under a trailer and move it without even leaving their seat, and backing a trailer in is easier.

    Need a seat upgrade

The MX 4800 - 5800 is the same seat as the MX5400 and MX6000, whether cab or not. The seat is reasonably comfortable, in my opinion. Armrests can be added from Kubota as an accessory.

Dealer warns front axle will wear out if left in 4x4

Only Ford still employs hubs that can disconnect both front wheels on their pickups and full size SUVs. GM and RAM use a center axle disconnect, which only disconnects one side. But I think disconnecting hubs on the Kubota would be a challenge since they use a bevel hub design.

Dealer warns front axle will wear out if left in 4x4

4WD is not helpful in braking a road-going vehicle like a pickup, because the pickup already has brakes on all 4 wheels. A tractor only has brakes on the rear wheels (at least smaller tractors like most of our Kubota's). If you are using engine braking or an exhaust brake on a diesel, then 4x4...

Dealer warns front axle will wear out if left in 4x4

No, it isn't. The type of 4x4 system found on our Kubota tractors is basically identical to a part-time 4x4 system found on many half-ton and heavy duty pickups, and Jeeps like the Wrangler or Gladiator truck. Let's take my brand-new 2022 RAM 2500 for example. When I am in 2WD Hi, power goes...

Has anyone filled their tires with fluid and regretted it?

Some of you guys are nuts. You don't need to "take strain off the loader." The manufacturer rates the tractor's front axle to be able to handle the added wight of the loader itself and the loader's rated payload. It will be able to take this for the life of the machine. The pages cited in the...
