    Minneapolis Moline Knoedler Seat Frame

Thanks to you guys, I'm starting to get a handle on spring sources. @bird dogger and @ccoon520 gave me some great suggestions. I still need to confirm dimensions, but a place like this does single springs in a bunch of lb/in rates....It's a place to start. King 3.0"x14" Coil Springs 200lb...

    Minneapolis Moline Knoedler Seat Frame

BAP - - yes, I'm a member there. I will likely look for some help there too. They were great help with the governor issue while back. Found a couple pictures.... first is a '52 ZA, next is a U, but identical system used.

    Minneapolis Moline Knoedler Seat Frame

'Cat - '53 MM ZA. Thanks for checking. MM had several different swivel-type seats on their row crops. Different shapes, etc. Couple used similar suspension frames w/ coil/shock in different arrangements. The seat drawing is from a MM book. Was a Marketing piece from the '50's, so not...

    Minneapolis Moline Knoedler Seat Frame

Follow up - forgot to add: Best I can figure is coil spring is/was about 3" OD top and bottom, and about 14" tall. I did see some seat springs were 100 lbs/inch. Assume I need something like that versus 650+lbs/inch for suspension purposes..... These parts are almost impossible to find used...

    Minneapolis Moline Knoedler Seat Frame

My 1953 Minneapolis Moline ZAU came with a "fancy" suspension seat frame. It looked like this. Unfortunately, I can no longer find parts diagrams from AGCO. This is the best I can do: It broke in the early '70's. Now I have this: But I have the frame. It lacks the central coil spring...

    OK I put together

Honestly, not so much. I will be gassing up at the house, so don't think it will be an issue for me. Use it and hang back up in the garage.

    OK I put together

Magic- sorry for my delay. I used that pump to fill the Moline today, and wanted to use it first before a reply. Worked great. Some had much shorter hoses, without the nozzle. That would have been a mistake for me. There is no check valve. Open the nozzle, hold above the outfit, and it all...

What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Brought the old ‘Moline out of hibernation. The Kubota served as the tender tractor ....

    OK I put together

Magic - - for what it's worth. I did edit my previous response. Does look very easy to purge, in that impellor is right at end of the pump. Amazon.com: TERA PUMP TREP01-T Multi-Purpose Battery Powered Fuel Liquid Transfer Pump with Quick Stop Flow Control: Automotive

    OK I put together

The “destructions” as I call them are in the box. I did pump water from one kitchen sink to the other when new. I think you just open/hold the nozzle and hose above the rest of the outfit and it drains down. PS - Yep - it’ll all drain out. Impellor is right there at the very bottom.

    OK I put together

Skeets - was thinking about you after work. Put battery back in Moline. It’s still covered, but hopefully we get some weather to get her fired up and cleaned up pretty quick. Fill cap is my chest level. I’m 6’4”. I made a mess gassing it up last fall. Harder than I remember 40 years ago. I’m...

Need a replacement L225 transmission casting....

I suggest you look up "007kubotaguy" AKA Lance here on OTT. Send him a message. He's from the west also (maybe CA?), and has quite a few older "L" series parts. I think quite a few OTT members have had success with him.

    Spring black bear trail cam

I've only seen one black bear in person. All I could think was if he/she came after me, I'd just smell like poop.... First you say it, then you do it....:poop:

    Oil change interval

I was a 3 month/3k mile guy for many, many years. Modern oils have changed that, as others mention. I completely get where they're coming from. They also mention recommended/proper spec for oil used, and the minimum service interval. Those are so important.....gets so many in trouble with...

    Who is Bill Gates?

Surprising the reach of the Gates' legacy. When our twin daughters were at Cornell University, the $60MM "Bill and Melinda Gates Student Center" building was under construction. Not sure they even had a connection with Cornell, and Cornell is far from destitute. I think half of it was on...
