Well this weekend I committed a sin against all Kubota tractors great and small. I *had* a sweet little L225 from 1978. Split it to fix a badly worn reverse gear and ended up breaking the bell housing trying to pull the halves back together with the bolts, I know, REALLY dumb idea. I destroyed my wife's favorite tractor on Mother's Day...special place in Hades for me. This tractor has a heart of pure gold, that engine just runs and runs, starts every time. My options, as I see them, are as follows:
1. Sell this thing as it sits for parts, it has a TON of new parts on it.
2. Find someone with a bad transmission they are using as a door stop and get that case here, migrate my decent internals over and return her to service.
If anyone has an enlightened view to other options, I'm all ears. Know where to look for another trans? Have one yourself and your willing to convert my cash into redemption?
My wife has a LOT of manure to move, and that pile isn't getting any smaller. Was considering a newer B series 30hp so she had the benefit of hydrostatic drive. Has the B series been ok? Was the BX the one that gave a bunch of owners pause? I seek wisdom...
