Best method to properly grade fresh fill?

I find that when I'm trying to use my tractor as a dozer to push the fill and level it. It works better with the bucket full. You will have better traction and the bucket doesn't seem to dig in as easily. This works for the final grade not the initial move the pile. Then when I have it where I...

load distribution on FEL chain hooks

I have 3 welded hooks on my bucket. 2 on the out side edges of the bucket. Those are mainly to strap 55 gal barrels or... in the bucket for transportation. The one in the center is for lifting things. I think lifting in the center is better for the loader, because it is centered. Lifting on the...

    newbie fuel question

In Maine our #2 fuel oil (to heat the house) is now low sulfur. I will use that or get off road diesel. I store it in 2, 55 gallon drums. That's about a years worth of fuel for me. I don't want it setting around any longer than that. I use power service summer blend in the summer, winter blend...

Picture of your tractor on your trailer

I tow a lot of cars and wheel straps are becoming the standard. The front are wheel straps for autos and the rear are just a strap wrapped around the back of the tire and crossed on the front. I do have to use 2 ratchets 1 won't tighten both ends of the strap. You can actually see the tire being...

    Loader Operation

Xreadx, how old are you 12? They aren't going to reinvent the tractor for 1 person. Most of us learn to operate any piece of equipment the way it is designed. If we don't like it we don't buy it. You seem to be frustrating yourself with something you can't change. Remember the old saying. God...

    Determining a tractor's age

I know this an an old post, but so is my story. When I purchased my new Kubota (Gr L 6060) I was looking for a smaller (hp) model Gr l. They had some smaller ones all set up and this 1 Grand L 6060 in the crate. I ended up going with the 6060 in the crate 1 of the reasons was because it hadn't...

    Axle fluid on Gr L6060

Whats everyone using in the front axles for fluid. The manual says 80-90 or SUTD. Doesn't give any temp ranges or any other info. I live in Maine and use the tractor for snow removal. I also use the tractor in the heat of summer. The SUTD must lube the differential in the rear, because there is...

OEM Work lights to LED conversion

I replaced the front overhead lights with a cheep set of LED's and I put a cheep LED on both sides of the cab for snow blowing at night. The cheep ones light up the area great but as soon as I turn them on I lose my radio reception. I have researched a lot and have tried a few different things...

    Hooks on a bx bucket

I always weld mine on. It's a lot easier and less expensive than bolt on. I put 3 across the top. The outside ones are to strap things in the bucket like barrols or to hook the extra chain up to keep it out of the way. Always put the lifting or pulling load in the center of your bucket to avoid...

    Grill Guard for L2501

I spent $100 to $125 and have the remainder of a 4'x8' sheet of expanded metal left over. I even covered a open space under the tractor that exposed my power steering gear and hoses. I think I'm going to name her Mad Max.

    Grill Guard for L2501

I'm in the process of building mine now. I will have about $100 and a couple days fabricating when I'm done. Part of the $100 is because I had to buy a 4'X8' sheet of expanded steel. I called it fabricating because it's not really work, more like a hobby.

    M7060 Brush Gaurd Pictures Please

I'm in the process of making my factory grille guard more of a brush guard. This is on a Grand L6060 not a M. These guards are 2 piece they have to tilt forward to open the hood. Just finished welding on the expanded metal now I need to get it painted.
